Untitled. Unmastered. Unimpressive. Lyrically saavy as you would expect from KL but there's isn't much else to it. There's a battle going on in the music industry to redefine the album as a form of artistic expression. The entire albums naming scheme wages war on this front. This feels like the albums best "message" which brings me to this point...Kendricks messages won't reach the masses because they aren't accompanied by more memorable sounds like those found in GKMC/Section 80 or attached to a sound more innovative than a jazz beat.

A demo collection that is album quality. Kendrick Lamar makes music for the mind. One of the greatest rappers of this generation if you ask me. The music on this project goes outside the box of your regular hip-hop. Not as much as To Pimp a Butterfly did compared to his older works as this is mostly a demo collection that came from TPAB. This does provide a much different feel than TPAB, though. If you didn't like TPAB, I suggest you give this a try.

It's Kendrick at his best Kendrick Lamar literally can't stop improving. His lyrical turns of the tongue over seemingly improvised jazz in the back of some friends house makes me feel like he's in the room. I feel as though rap can't get better but Kendrick has a new album on the way so I'm sure he will prove me wrong.

He can take u to another level through his music, now thats what music suppose to do. K-Dot showcasing his talent. Each of his main stream albums are so real and totally different styles of music but still in the genre we call rap. He a genius. He gonna continue to give us a different view of what real rap is made of. His next album will take us into another chamber of his complex but high ly intelligenct "genius rap"styles. His albums will never be the same. He like a mad scientist that creates The Unthinkable. Rap has a new Face and he carrying the torch with Pride and Honor.

[Revised] Grade: A- (Favorite Tracks: Untitled 1; Untitled 2; Untitled 3; Untitled 5; Untitled 7 (First and Second Part) // Least Favorite: Untitled 6; Untitled 7 (Third Part)) This project is just growing on me every second. So forget what I said then. First off, that first track...that track was just speechless. The second was a banger. The third was groovy. The fourth was actually pretty brilliant. The fifth was TRIPPY and Jay Rock killed his verse. The Ceelo was the low point for me. The first two parts of the seventh were great. The third I could do without. And I didn't mind the eighth track. But the more I play this, the more this becomes my second favorite from Kendrick.

Looooove Im in loove with everything about kendrick lamar. He never fails us. Every album is a masterpeice, this album adds to his collection. History made, a movement you dont want to miss. Havent went through everything he's been through, yet i can still relate to alot of his music. And i understand his expression of life. A genius artist. Cant stop now, lead on.

EVERY TIME. This is the man that consistently makes me question my taste in music. DO I really enjoy his music as much as I feel like I do? Can a perfect rapper exist? How come I can't find flaws in anything he does? This album isn't even freaking mastered completely and it's flawless. I have nothing to offer you but my thanks.
It's pretty dope! Though it will take time to get used to it being unmastered. I do appreciate the fact that K.Dot dropped a project. The vocals are obviously not mastered, they are clear just not pitch corrected, or edited like his previous projects. He isn't a singer so I really don't care about the pitch really. Hopefully he masters them for his next project. All in all great project, great lyrics as always. And will listen often. Thanks K.DOT!
To Untitle A Butterfly K Dot is back, delivering more of that space jazz funk sound of TPAB. The LP contains a few extras from his last album, and generally follows the same concept and sound. Not a bad thing, because TPAB was the best album in past few years. Kendrick is the truth. He has transcended commercial and street/underground audiences.
It's Alright But... It's an okay album and I can see why these didn't make it into "To Pimp A Butterfly". I'm just not feeling the tracks that much though. The lyrics are great as always ( I mean it's Kendrick come on) but I'm just not liking this style of rap he chose. It just seems like he had some extra songs and wanted a quick buck at least maybe the label did anyway? Im hoping the next Album will be alot like Good Kid Mad City that's Album to this day is his greatest next to section. 80 IN MY OPINION. Keep it up Kendrick
Kendricks recycles Even for this album containing tracks never put out before and these literally being tracks he had decided to throw away, I'm glad he released them. Will say that I got this album via spotify premium and for being only 34 minutes long it is still surprising to see it for $10 bucks but still a great album.
First spin. Not impressed. Kendrick fan since OD times here. Got to say I can't call one stand out track out of this bitch. Even one that he performed live. Very TPAB influenced EP, was expecting something more than just leftovers. Edit: fuck me. This shit slaps.
Very chill Not the masterpiece that To Pimp a Butterfly is, but this seems to be labeled as a more chill rap album. The title, "untitled unmastered" indicates that. For what it is, I can't imagine it possibly being better than what it is. Some of my friends say that it's better than To Pimp a Butterfly; I don't agree with that at all, but that just says how good this album is. Definitely worth a listen.
Kendrick Still Killin It Buy this album, kendrick isn't overrated, nor is this album. Kendrick is one of the top 3 best rappers of all time. I honestly love almost every song on this album, as I typical always do with kendrick. There are a ton of amazing verses in this album. Definitely reccomend. People are still mad that he's being creative and going into the true roots of hip hop...really...yea let's make everything generic and boring, I can understand if someone doesn't like this, yet kendrick is an artist, be open minded.
Another Masterpiece! Kendrick cannot drop a bad album. He only gets better and more artistic with each one he releases to the world to enjoy. This is a breath of fresh air when compared to all the other junk on radio right now. I love the direction he's taking and only hope he continues to develop his craft so that we can continue to enjoy his genius and skill. King Kendrick!
Genius. Such an enjoyable project. Can't wait to see what the master K-Dot has in store for us next. This was one of those albums that has to grow on you though. If you listen to a song once and don't like it, don't worry!! Let it grow on you. Best tracks are definitely 02 and 07, untitled 08 is very catchy as well.
Did it again👏💯 Some of the people comments on here make me laugh. If you can't vibe to Kendrick's music, then don't belittle his music just because you don't like it. Kendricks by far my favorite rapper of all time, but i don't go around talking trash about other rappers albums & music... Untitled Unmastered, another great album. Definitely earns ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Tracks 2, 7, & 8 are my favorites from this album.
It's ok Very lyrical, I love how detailed he is within his music....but, I listen very closely and he takes forever to make a point alot of filler with pointless cuts that make him sound like he's trying to hard to be different. I get it he's one of the best lyricist alive but doesn't mean ya'll should overrate all his music
Love it but disappointed I love the album but hate that I spent money on the files yet I can not pull the files off my phone let alone pull them off of play music this is the moment apple has it made they would have the files and be able to make edits with them witch we sadly can not. I can't even play the songs THAT I PAID FOR in an edit I wanted to make for an instagram post because it is on a software not my physical memory as a file
Best rap album of 2016 (so far) It's unbelievable how Kendrick Lamar calls this album Unmastered, with such masterful pieces of art in it. Untitled 02 is just another level of addictive music. Probably listened to it a 100 times
Great music from the 7x Grammy winner This compilation of songs is better than alot of these rappers album like young thug and fetty wap. Quality music and has two of the untitled songs kendrick lamar performed on colbert and Jimmy fallon
Kills it! Kendrick is simply an amazing lyrical genius with eclectic musical taste that seasons his albums in the most uplifting, soulful, powerful way. This album is insane. He is changing my life...one album at a time. Love this guy!
Another great album People can say what they want but kendrick is indeed a real artist who expresses himself. That is what hippop is all about. His music is so real and uplifting. He is like the continuation of NWA in my opinion.
Best Rapper Alive Straight poetry. Didn't expect another Kendrick album until next year so this is great. Now just waiting for Q and Rashad to come out with their new tracks
K dot continues to give true hip hop enthusiasts something constructive to listen to. Thank God for him and J.cole because with all these young thug and future type rappers out here I was about to lose my mind
I like how Kendrick Lamar songs are totally different styles each song and how he tells a story of his life. Imo kendrick and J Cole are the future of rap. He is one of the last that actually doesn't talk about guns money and girls some of them artists are good like future but they not on Kendrick level not even drake
? Y'all do know kendrick didn't drop this album right? One of his people in the company "accidently" put in on the internet, it's mother official from kendrick.
I am tired of hearing the same type of songs on the radio... Kendrick always delivers something different. But not just different for the sake of being different, he does it with a purpose. Pure dopeness
I love it Best artist alive this generation is lost he speaking on reality and tells the truth that's why he doesn't get the recognition he deserve keep up the awesome work brother God bless you and yours.
I really enjoyed his first project had on replay all the time. Now these last 2 albums been below average. He's overrated . Few tracks but nobody in my circle say "play that kendrick"
Garbage Kendrick fell off. If anyone else made a jazz/rap, unmastered throwaway track album, they would hate it. Just goes to show how far kendrick stans will go to defend him.
Another trash album Cmon K.Dot....We need more G.K.M.C and less T.P.A.B. great lyrically but these tracks, like his previous album have NO REPLAY VALUE! Quit being a weirdo on the beats and rythem. Smh.
Honestly I dont think hes human This album was a collection of songs that didnt make it on TPAB.. these songs are way too good to go unreleased.. happy kendrick dropped this
Why does Kendrick have to consistently drop albums that I will sink an entire year into? Either way, he's done it again. Great album.
Kendrick never fails Of course it doesn't touch To Pimp A Butterfly but it is still lit. I like no. 8 the best 😆😆
Nice! Greatness! Spectacular! Lyrics Are Dope & Are On Point Very Versatile Artist In Hip Hop Right Now. Unique Flow On This Ep From Unrealesed Songs Too The Album To Pimp A Butterfly. IF You Love Hip-Hop This Is A Have Too Get Album Too Listen Too. 💯✔👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Untitled. Unmastered. Unimpressive. Its Fkin' Awesome, speaks VOLUMES. Especially when the words are uniquely designed for the crazy, like myself:)... We're ALL mad here!
Awesome! I don't really need to say more, I really appreciate all his material, and he always keeps me captivated with his lyrics. Loving Kendrick.
He bumped his head and bled the flow......for real. It's like the Prequel to Pimp a Butterfly.
We have to thank Lebron For this fire a week ago I was on Twitter and saw Lebron blabbing about Kendricks untitled track saying they needed to be released well it came true and we know have those songs that we all wondered they release and then some they are honestly great 10/10 from me
