Sacked 97.3FM radio presenter Robin Bailey says she was "blindsided" by the station's decision not to renew her contract.
The popular presenter, who had been part of the station's climb to a top-two spot in the breakfast ratings this year, said she was "ambushed" on Monday morning, before the shake-up was announced.

'I was ambushed': Robin Bailey
Robin Bailey is axed from the high rating Brisbane 97.3FM breakfast show, saying it was "not a joint decision". Nine News
"The announcement today that I am leaving the 97.3FM breakfast team has come as a complete shock," she said in a statement on Monday.
"I have been blindsided by ARN's decision not to renew my contract.
"After minimal feedback during a protracted negotiation period at no stage did ARN make me any offer for 2017."
ARN national content director Duncan Campbell said the station and Bailey were in contract negotiations for a "long period of time" and were unable to agree to terms.
"Robin has had a great 10 years on-air with 97.3 and we're sad to see her go," he said in a statement.
"While we worked hard to keep Robin as part of the team, we're disappointed that we were unable to agree terms.
"Unfortunately, based on the information ARN was consistently given throughout the negotiation process, we were led into a position where we were unable to proceed with contract renewal.
"We're extremely excited about 2017 and the fun and compelling content we will have on offer for our Brisbane listeners – both loyal and new alike."
Bob Gallagher will continue as the show's anchor along with Terry Hansen, with the pair to be joined by a new host.
Bailey kicked off her career in Sydney as a TV journalist before making the switch to radio and moving to Brisbane where she became an on-air favourite, joining the 97.3 team in 2006.
She said the move to wind up her time there was not a joint decision.
"I love radio and I have loved my 10 years on air at 97.3FM," she said.
"It was not only a job for me, it has been my home, my family and you the listeners have been my friends and supporters in the good times and the bad.
"After such a long and positive relationship at 97.3 I would have anticipated a more respectful approach to my departure.
"To the loyal Brisbane listeners and public, thank you for allowing me into your lives and thank you for being such an important part of mine."
Bailey spoke openly to her listeners in 2014 when her husband, Tony Smart, died after battling depression, leaving her and their three sons behind.
She made a promise to come back to radio.
The 97.3FM breakfast show team dipped to second in the latest radio survey, after pipping arch-rivals Nova for top spot in the previous period, with both ahead of ABC's traditional breakfast king Spencer Howson.
