An opening shot of one of those enormous, endlessly flowing, across-the-top-of-the-screen George Lucas space cruisers introduces us into the not-quite-so-serious world of director Mel Brooks' planet Spaceball, which is attempting to steal the atmosphere.

Absurd parody at its finest What can be said for Mel Brooks? You either love his stuff to death or can't stand it. I'm of the former group. This is definitely my favorite of his, although Young Frankenstein comes very close. While flawed in some places, it is nevertheless thoroughly enjoyable and laugh out loud funny even on multiple viewings (and trust me, I've had more than a few viewings of this).
Sam Da Man K-man
One of the more memorable parodies This movie is made by the undisputed parody king (by many), Mel Brooks. His humor is so spot-on and sophisticated, that his movies can be enjoyed over and over again. Truly, this movie is one of the few that doesn't get boring over time. My favorites are the virgin alarm, the sleepy prince, and the sex-obsessed president. My only critique is the part where they admit to being in a movie, which kills it for me a bit.
loppol LOL
I have it I have this movie on blue-ray and jts the best. Not for kids 8 and under. I nust love it. I reccommend this movie for people who need to laugh. Please get this movie! Rick Moranis is my favorite character by the way.
