Set in the 1930s, Woody Allen’s bittersweet romance CAFÉ SOCIETY follows Bronx-born Bobby Dorfman (Jesse Eisenberg) to Hollywood, where he falls in love, and back to New York, where he is swept up in the vibrant world of high society nightclub life. With CAFÉ SOCIETY, Woody Allen conjures up a 1930s world that has passed to tell a deeply romantic tale of dreams that never die.

You'll end up feeling about the film like Bobby about Los Angeles -- "half-bored, half-fascinated." And that's a pretty poor average, even for two poorly stitched-together films.
Kate Taylor
Cafe Society is mainly a small and unnervingly familiar private drama that is never funny enough nor smart enough to justify its anachronistic style.
Adam Graham
If it doesn't reach the heights of Woody's best - 2013's "Blue Jasmine" was his last great film - it still has several rich touches, including a luminous performance by Kristen Stewart.
Peter Howell
"I'm kind of half-bored, half-fascinated," Eisenberg tells his bro over the long-distance line, and the sentiment could also apply to the movie - although Storaro's sumptuous cinematography makes...
Calvin Wilson
A love story drenched in nostalgia, "Café Society" is a film of rare beauty.

Eeeehhhh...it was okay. Basically a movie that could be real life...only To END like real life. Started off great only to it kick you in the butt at the end, cuz you thought something was going to happen....which ends up...NOOOOOT. Cuz in Real Life...YOU DONT GET THE GIRL. WHO WANTS TO WATCH A MOVIE WHERE YOU DONT GET TO BE WITH THE WOMAN OF YOUR DREAMS. IF I WANT TO SEE THAT...ALL I HAVE TO DO IS LOOK IN THE MIRROR. I still love you Alissa H., I ALWASY WILL.

Movie, not that good.... But, I appreciated.... I was visitin' some friends I used to work with... they had rented this movie & I was watching it from an adjacent room... And, just before it ended the room had lesser family members viewing it & that was my que to politely get up & say my goodbyes & mutually depart.!? I did watch most of movie & didn't care for it... But, I did appreciate the Era back then & the movies effort to recreate this time of period back then... Honest & Truly, Tim B.
Lifeless story with lifeless soundtrack. The same filler jazz music drolled on scene after scene without stopping to take a breath...All the actors just played themselves.
Just Trash. . . Like most all of WA junk. Rotten Tomatoes gets it wrong again as always. Enough Said.
It tiook me to new york. That is that. Sorrow events throughout
Charming Irrepressible 1930s Romance Novella Wonderfully written and directed by Woody Allen. A romance and comedy that is intriguing and surelong-lasting. Beautiful people. Exceptional quality and costumes, keep the storyline moving, dramatic, and, highly memorable.
Great atmosphere, occasionally punctuated by Woody Allen's bubbly humor.
Very entertaining movie with vivid characters, great acting.
Loved it! I love this movie! Watched it several times already!
