In Christianity, a collegiate church is a church where the daily office of worship is maintained by a college of canons; a non-monastic or "secular" community of clergy, organised as a self-governing corporate body, which may be presided over by a dean or provost. In its governance and religious observance a collegiate church is similar to a cathedral, although a collegiate church is not the seat of a bishop and has no diocesan responsibilities. Collegiate churches were often supported by extensive lands held by the church, or by tithe income from appropriated benefices. They commonly provide distinct spaces for congregational worship and for the choir offices of their clerical community.

Quedlinburg, in the Land of Sachsen-Anhalt, was a capital of the East Franconian German Empire at the time of the Saxonian-Ottonian ruling dynasty. It has been a prosperous trading town since the Middle Ages. The number and high quality of the timber-framed buildings make Quedlinburg an exceptional example of a medieval European town. I walked to Warwick to ring for evensong there. I got there an hour early , so wandered round the church. The organist was rehearsing the voluntary and various bits of the service. I decided to make a video of the Beauchamp Chapel to share wich you all, because it is very beautiful! Brilliant youtube users have confirmed the organ music to be a bit of improvisation , followed by Duruflé's Carillon in A minor. Please remember this was the organist practising. Not that I can hear any mistakes. Read more about the church and the Beauchamp Chapel here - http://www.stmaryswarwick.org.uk/index.php?/stmarys/history_architecture/

Westminster Abbey, formally titled the Collegiate Church of St Peter at Westminster, is a large, mainly Gothic abbey church in the City of Westminster, London, located just to the west of the Palace of Westminster. It is one of the most notable religious buildings in the United Kingdom and has been the traditional place of coronation and burial site for English and, later, British monarchs. Between 1540 and 1556 the abbey had the status of a cathedral. Since 1560, however, the building is no longer an abbey nor a cathedral, having instead the status of a "Royal Peculiar"—a church responsible directly to the sovereign. The building itself is the original abbey church. More info visits; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westminster_Abbey westminster abbey london westminster abbey tickets online...
Lincluden Collegiate Church was also earlier known as Lincluden Priory or Lincluden Abbey. It is a ruined religious house, situated to the north of the Royal Burgh of Dumfries, Scotland. Situated in a bend of the Cluden Water, at its confluence with the River Nith, the ruins are on the site of the Bailey of the very early Lincluden Castle, as are those of the later Lincluden Tower. This religious house was founded circa 1160 and was used for various purposes, until its abandonment around 1700.
