Religion in America may refer to:
Trousers (pants in North America) are an item of clothing worn from the waist to the ankles, covering both legs separately (rather than with cloth extending across both legs as in robes, skirts, and dresses).
In the UK the word "pants" generally means underwear and not trousers.Shorts are similar to trousers, but with legs that come down only to around the area of the knee, higher or lower depending on the style of the garment. To distinguish them from shorts, trousers may be called "long trousers" in certain contexts such as school uniform, where tailored shorts may be called "short trousers", especially in the UK.
In most of the Western world, trousers have been worn since ancient times and throughout the Medieval period, becoming the most common form of lower-body clothing for adult males in the modern world, although shorts are also widely worn, and kilts and other garments may be worn in various regions and cultures. Breeches were worn instead of trousers in early modern Europe by some men in higher classes of society. Since the mid-20th century, trousers have increasingly been worn by women as well. Jeans, made of denim, are a form of trousers for casual wear, now widely worn all over the world by both sexes. Shorts are often preferred in hot weather or for some sports and also often by children and teenagers. Trousers are worn on the hips or waist and may be held up by their own fastenings, a belt or suspenders (braces). Leggings are form-fitting trousers, of a clingy material, often knitted cotton and spandex (elastane).

E.J. Dionne: Is there a relationship between religion and politics? Yes. Can faith-based doctrine influence election outcomes? Absolutely. Does this present a conflict with the doctrines put forth by the founding fathers? Not really. More: http://bit.ly/bEibBm
Based on the research of sociologist Robert Bellah and others, this 20 minute video poses two questions: (1) Is Bellah correct when he asserts there is a civil religion in America that exists alongside our major religious institutions? If so, what does it look like? And (2) If an American civil religion exists, does it pose a threat to the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam)? From their perspective, is it a form of idolatry? Produced as a element for a world religions class, this video might also be useful in a religion class discussing the meaning and forms of idolatry, and in sociology, civics and American history classes. The video is not intended to provide definitive answers, but to spark discussion.

I know it wasn't fair of me, but I'm spitting ink onto the pages like blood through broken teeth. I can see the gallows all lit up in neon just waiting for me. The limelight started burning. They're all paying for bullets to shoot at my feet. Does that make you happy? Truman will always be remembered for dropping the bomb. I'll always be remembered for my fuck ups but I'm still living in Richie's basement. I'm still sitting at the coffee shop with Ken. We still talk about nothing. I still feel like the same person I've been. I knew a lot of talented kids who got lost in paink...
In this lecture/discussion video from my Spring 2014 Religion in America class at Marist college, we begin to discuss the textbook for the class (America's Religions: From Their Origins to the Twenty-first Century 3rd. ed., by Peter Williams), focusing on Chapter 1, "The Varieties of Native American Religious Life". In this chapter, we discuss why the author begins the textbook discussing Native American religions, key distinctive features of Native American societies prior to the coming of the Europeans (and in some cases afterwards), and some of the main aspects of Native American (and many indigenous peoples) differing from those of typical modern "western" conceptions of religion. We also discuss some key categories applicable not only for Native American religions, but more generall...

American Religion and the Oprah Faith - Nov 2, 2015 The National Association of Evangelicals is backing away from the death penalty. But the real concern is that evangelicals are increasingly compromising one very important facet of the Gospel (as clearly described in 1 Cor. 15). Kevin Swanson also addresses the Oprah’s “Belief” and the American Religion, summarized in three words. . .”I am beautiful.” - See more at: https://generationswithvision.com/ Heard at http://FirstAmendmentRadio.net http://support.firstamendmentradio.net/
Taped in Chicago in front of a live audience, Ricky's second HBO stand-up special is, just like his first, a compilation of his best material from his previous UK specials, but presented to the American audience. He talks about God and religion, the recession, addiction, famine and plenty more. No copyright infringement intended. Ricky is simply too funny to pass off and other videos of this show on YouTube had shitty video and/or audio quality, so I took it upon myself to upload a proper one. English subtitles included in captions. So sue me.
