Completely misleading trailer This is now the only movie I've seen where the trailer was 10xs better than the movie. The movie stretches its jokes to a point where it loses all its humor and turns into "lets see who can use the most curses in a sentence that shocks the audience the most LOL!" Because this movie takes that and runs with it, hard. It's so embarrassing. There was SO much potential with this film, they could've made it so much funnier, but for every genuinely funny plot point, the dialogue ruined it double. Over, and over, and over again. It wasn't the voice actors, who did a great job; it was just some of the dumbest dialogue the writers could think of! I wanted to like this movie so much when I saw the trailer three months ago, but it was one of the biggest letdowns I have experienced at a theater. The movie would've been great if they had stuck to the trailer content and expanded on that, but they didn't...that wasn't even what the movie was about almost at all. It's about "what would a typical 15 year-old male say to his similarly-aged buddies about women and sex? Okay, let's take that and push it further into immaturity until we get to about thirteen and twelve year-olds." GIANT facepalm.
Not even remotely funny. I have watched every Seth Rogen movie and I love them all except this one. This movie was terrible. Yes it is rated R for a reason and I'm all for a raunchy dirty comedy. (For Example Dirty Grandpa from this year was right up my alley.) But the "Jokes" are literally just food slipping out random profanity. They don't even say jokes. They just cuss non-stop. I expected the typical Seth Rogen movie language but this was just distasteful and dumb. There was no fun to be had and the animation all looked dated.
A TRILLION STAR RATING!! Everyone in the comments hating on this movies cus its oh too graphic, too sexual blah blah blah. I dont see why they complain so much. The damn movie is rated "R" for a reason. Its not gonna be like a barney movie. Damn ppl don't get the ratings systems for movies anymore. I loved this movie so damn much!!!! I would pay to see it again. My type of comedy right here. This movie had made me say it has to be THE absolute funniest movie ive seen YET! No other movie ive ever seen topped this movie yet. 😃
TERRIBLE! "TORTURED" I have a strong sense of humor that enjoys when movies pish the limits a bit but this was TERRIBLE! It stinks because I am HUGE fan of James franco, Seth Rogan, Michael CERA and Danny Mcbride and I feel so dissapointed that they all thought this movie was funny. They should be embarrassed at the movie we all consider garbage!!! SO GROSS!!!! I FELT LIKE ALL The Comedians were hanging out smoking weed and came up with this CRAPPY idea for a movie. DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$
Sausage Party is a fantastic animated comedy for adults! The satirical writing and social commentary presented in the movie works well, even if it is a little heavy-handed. Not only is the film's premise clever and (actually) charming, but the overall success of Sausage Party comes from its endearing message of different cultures struggling to both challenge the status quo and question long-standing beliefs. Stand out performances from the Woody Allen-esque bagel played by Edward Norton, Kristin Wiig's hot dog bun, and Nick Kroll as the (literal) evil douche. The film's run-time just under 90 minutes is perfect and does not lead the film to overstay its welcome and drag.
Yes! This movie broke my funny bone. I don't think anything will ever be funny again. I laughed so frickin hard. It has literally topped everything I have ever seen. And watching it in a theater in a foreign country as an American where the subtitles were crappy so only we got ALL of the jokes was frickin priceless. We had to be the loudest ones in the theater. I give this movie 100 stars all the way. I will pay to see it again.
CHRISTIANS BEWARE This is the single most offensive movie I have EVER seen in my life. I'm all up for humor and I dont mind getting ragged on in good taste as a Christian, but this piece of garbage...I walked out in the first ten minutes. This flick completely mocks Jesus, God, and Jews. It mocks Heaven. It was constantly suggesting sex among the food. And that was just the first 5 minutes. I heard it got far far worse after I left
The movie is okay, however you will have to find humor in vulgar speech, racist jokes and sex jokes only. Low maturity levels are required to properly enjoy this movie so don't watch it with a serious mind set. There is an underlying message of getting along and some things about bashful atheism and criticism of religion and whatnot but nothing that you haven't heard of before. Honestly the most proper way to describe this movie would be to call it the rich man's Food Fight, which was another low quality animation movie that had some serious names voice acting for it. It is shocking how these names end up in these types of movies for drunks and kids to enjoy.
Could've been a lot more clever😧😒 I'll admit, the trailer looked hilarious and some of the movie was funny. But, I thought the movie was gonna be about them escaping the house and that it'd play on the whole food realizes it gets eaten thing. It could've been so much more clever had they played on that more. But, they had to ruin it with over-the-top swearing and unnecessarily raunchy humor. There were some scenes I felt dirty after seeing. I don't know how some find this hilarious. It's mediocre at best😝
Terrible concept An animated R-Rated movie... Who's idea was this?! Adult swim, sure, that's fine, but a *movie?!* If inappropriate animated movies are a "thing" now, what does this mean for the children?? Disney/Pixar and DreamWorks are the only animation studios that are making kid friendly movies(basically). Based on statistics from the last few months, approximately 5-7 R-Rated movies are released each month. Only 1-2 kid(eg. G and PG) movies are released each month. That is just insanely sad. What has America come to?!
I just watched porn with a theater full of people I did not expect it to be so graphic, gorgeous and sexual content wise. It was funny at times but way too much unnecessary cursing for my taste. I don't necessarily regret watching it but I could sure do without watching it again
I wish I could bleach my brain! And my eyes and my ears. This movie was not only a scattered mess, but it has scarred me for the rest of my life! If you are a fan of movies, if you hate the way modern movie industry is turning, if you enjoy things like eating regularly, word of advice, NEVER see this movie. It's sexist, racists, and borderline homophobic. If you're desperate to watch a good animated movie this year, check out Kubo and the Two Strings.
Food porn I am far from a conservative and I was with it right up till the end. Then it became awkward af. You need to consider who you see this movie with. Do not see it with your in-laws! I would not recommend wasting your money or time.
Congratuations, you just made a mediocre film with bad words This film literally tries to lure kids into watching it. It is a waste of money for watchers. In my humble opinion, Felidae was a lot better. This is a nauseating film, don't watch it. "If you do I'll Terminate You".
IN THAT CASE... If this movie is sexual, racist, and disgusting... Why did you guys say that kids 15+ something like that should watch it? IM only 13, AND I wanna know.
Jokes good, a step down on the animation. The animation feels off like they chose a cheap animator 2 make it more budget friendly. The textures of the characters are 2 bland kinda makes everything look like plastic. Occasionally they hit the mark with scenes like the war zone scene when they fall out the cart. then u got scenes the feel like they phoned it it on animation like with the liquor aisle. I get that there's a lot on screen then but come on perfect a few models and then copy paste them. Liquor comes in cases. the jokes r fun and twisted.
ppl are just dumb This movie is awesome.this is rated R for a reason. And u guys think u have the right to be like ew SEX jokes and racist joke when I guarantee makes most movies u watch funny.im black, but don't take racist joke to series. U know what, for those who wrote www sex/racist jokes, watch barney and SpongeBob the rest of it life u 5 yr olds then
It was a clever way to present a movie to us, the audience, from Seth Rogan and his usual crew. Other than that, the story itself is rather cookie-cutter. There is a large food orgy toward the end of the movie that was... something else.
Worst Movie Horrible movie. They wanted to see how much filth and vulgarity into one movie. It's a shame that bug name actors signed in for this. Guess it's all about money now. Don't waste your time with this movie.
Vulgar and dumb - But the good kind. Sure it will piss off any soccer moms and christians here and there, but this is 2016. I found this to be hilarious in some parts, and for such kind of movie, I found also that it is surprisingly insightful in its themes.
It's 5 minutes of fun This movie can be summed up with the previews. I get that is a dumb vulgar movie but, it's just so slow. Each scene just gets worse. Good idea but, just a bad movie.
Would have walked out I love movies like Dumb and Dumber, Happy Gilmore, Airplane... but I think this is the worst movie I have ever watched. I wanted to leave but I was with friends. I have decided that the good rating on rotten tomatoes was a big practical joke. I am not a pc person. I don't mind vulgar humor when it's funny.
A new peak for Seth Rogen! This movie was really funny... There were some moments where the jokes don't completely hit you AT FIRST but you think about it and then you realize it later, and it'll hit you hard. And the ending? I've never laughed that hard in a while! I demand a sequel!!! (especially with a cliffhanger like that)
Messed up but great. This is number one on my most messed up movies list and Iv seen a lot of them. Funny as hell but definitely not something to watch with children anywhere near
17 year old potty humor. Worse than the human centipede. That's an hour and a half ill never get back.
Sausage Party Its really bad it cus's and its kind of sad. Regardless of that. I don't like this movie at all
Loved it Warped my mind, seeing animation on the big screen with curse words! I laughed so hard! The different personalities were epic! Especially the east coast Jersey boy douche bag! Thank you! Lmao You can't be a sensitive softy with a pc attitude and enjoy this movie! The guys did an amazing job!
Just stupid. Another sad movie of grown ups acting like 19 yr old frat boys. This type of "humor" is old.
Not great The trailers made it look really funny! But, it wasn't really funny, there were a couple moments though!
Loved it To the people who said it sucked you may as well go fuck yourself and your bullshit feeling this movie was hilarious you people are just to simple minded and a bunch of PUSSIES if it offends that makes me 100% happy
This film attempts to deal with subjects such as sexuality, religion and geopolitics in a fun and humorous way. Instead, it deals with cliche 101 issues within these subjects in a boring and predictable way. An achievement given the unique concept of the film. Sadly the only funny bits were those that were shown in the trailer. Shame, considering how much I was looking forward to watching this film.
Greatest R Rated CGI Movie! I laugh so hard, but the ending threw me off. Camille Toh is babe! XD
The most over rated, pre-pubescent piece of shit I've ever seen. If you like obscenity without any wit whatsoever, you're in luck!
Hilarious Multi layer comedy. Top layer is foul mouth dirty jokes but underneath it is a story about the design and purpose of religion. Of course the insane food orgy at the end is great for shock value
Had it's moments This movie pretty much plots around religions & atheist / and what they believe happens in afterlife. / Heads up, the ending is supeeeerrrr awkward 😂
It's ok Alright here's the deal, it's fine. It's not as bad as some people are making it out to be unless you are easily offended. Now it's no gold mine of comedie, but it isn't trash either. Though I could have gone without the food porn at the end of the movie. Basically put, if your just looking for something random to watch that has some funny in it, this is your movie. But if your easily offended or are not looking for a movie that in and of its self is a joke, then maybe pass this one by.
Sucked This movie was just too stupid. My friends laughed hysterical. Maybe the humor just wasn't for me.
Good but disappointing I would like to point out that the movie is good but is nothing like the trailer. I laughed a couple of times but it was never hilarious. I liked the cast and the plot was intriguing but it never became as good as I thought it could have been. Unfortunately, the final product was a story about religion, sex, and torture that involves staying in a supermarket for 85% of the movie. I would rate it a 7 out of 10.
Didn't laugh once. I'm guessing this movie might be ok if you are baked, but I didn't laugh through the entire movie. The end orgy made me smile, but I regret spending money on this. The social commentary was shallow and stereotypical at best.
I love Seth Rogen but this SUCKS This was just ridiculous and ignorant and not remotely funny AT ALL.
