Uganda (/juːˈɡændə/ yew-GAN-də or /juːˈɡɑːndə/ yew-GAHN-də), officially the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in East Africa. It is bordered to the east by Kenya, to the north by South Sudan, to the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the southwest by Rwanda, and to the south by Tanzania. Uganda is the world's second most populous landlocked country after Ethiopia. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, shared with Kenya and Tanzania, situating the country in the African Great Lakes region. Uganda also lies within the Nile basin, and has a varied but generally a modified equatorial climate.
Uganda takes its name from the Buganda kingdom, which encompasses a large portion of the south of the country, including the capital Kampala. The people of Uganda were hunter-gatherers until 1,700 to 2,300 years ago, when Bantu-speaking populations migrated to the southern parts of the country.

Tamale Mirundi's analysis of the current political stalemate
Two thirds of Ugandans are under 24. Many of these bright young things are moving to the cities to start companies. Designer Sylvia Owori is a model of successful entrepreneurship.
There are two things you notice when driving around Kampala. The first are the borda-bordas, motorcycle taxis which are definitely the quickest and easiest way to avoid a traffic jam. The second is the amount of banks. There are over 20 banks in Uganda to service a population of 30 million people. While these banks were not exposed to toxic sub-prime assets, the financial sector suffered a major shock when, like other open African economies, foreign investors pulled their money out during the height of the financial crisis.

Afrikanisches Essen Ugandan cuisine consists of traditional cooking with English, Arab, Asian and especially Indian influences.[citation needed] Like the cuisines of most countries, it varies in complexity, from the most basic, a starchy filler with a sauce of beans or meat, to several-course meals served in upper-class homes and high-end restaurants.[citation needed] Main dishes are usually centered on a sauce or stew of groundnuts, beans or meat. The starch traditionally comes from ugali (maize meal) or matoke (boiled and mashed green banana), in the South, or an ugali made from millet in the North. Cassava, yam and African sweet potato are also eaten; the more affluent include white (often called "Irish") potato and rice in their diets. Soybean was promoted as a healthy food staple in...

It is located in the capital Kampala and just a few minutes driving from the downtown, if you need further info about how to get there just send me an email or write a comment. Enjoy it.

Hospitals receive some help from volunteer organizations like Doctors Without Borders that provide medical staff, but low salaries and long hours deter many Ugandan doctors from service. Uganda has become the new front on which the US is indirectly waging its so-called war on terror in Somalia against al-Qaeda-linked elements. There are now more than 7000 African Union (AU) peacekeepers in Mogadishu, with Uganda currently providing some 4000 of them. The Uganda's president, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has even suggested that his country could provide the entire 20000 troops the AU needs in Somalia provided western nations assist in funding the operation. Some critics say Museveni is using this to divert attention from his own regime which is accused of corruption, brutality and the suppression of freedom. It is alleged that Ugandan forces have committed human rights abuses in its war against rebels in the north. The question is at what cost, as such decisions expose Ugandan ...

Many Ugandans have lived through fear over the decades - either because of the actions of Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army or from the campaign of an Islamist insurgency known as the ADF. But today Ugandan Muslims face a different anxiety. Over the past two years, unknown assailants have ambushed and killed a dozen of the country's leading Muslim clerics. Others survived and now live in fear. The attacks have occurred across the country, from the capital, Kampala, to border towns like Mbale. The government and police say that ADF insurgents, among others, are responsible for the killings. Other's blame them on an ideological struggle within the Muslim community or a result of a fight over property and money. Many, though, are pointing fingers at Ugandan government security forces th...
