President-elect Donald Trump has vowed time and time again to return America to greatness. One of the pillars of that greatness is the US-China economic relationship, which Trump clearly wants to alter. But an editorial piece in one of China’s state-run newspapers can be seen as a warning of what might happen to Trump’s America in the event that a trade war erupts. More →
It seems like just yesterday that Apple released its hotly anticipated iOS 10.1 update, bringing Portrait Mode to the iPhone 7 Plus and pushing smartphone photography to the next level in the process. Believe it or not though, the company is getting ready to release yet another big iOS update that could come as soon as this week. In fact, it might even be released later today. We’ve covered bits and pieces of iOS 10.2 over the past couple of weeks as Apple has released new betas, but now that the software seems to be feature-complete, let’s take a look at all of the best new things set to hit your iPhone or iPad as soon as Apple’s iOS 10.2 update is released to the public. At the beginning of the month, we rounded up reviews for Apple’s 13-inch, Touch Bar-less MacBook Pro. Despite its hefty price and lack of the most intriguing new feature, the reaction was overwhelmingly positive, with most outlets claiming that the MacBook Pro with function keys would be a solid upgrade for anyone that needed to move on from an aging machine.
The consensus isn’t quite as clear when it comes to the Touch Bar models.
“Hey, while you’re here, would you just mind checking my iPhone? It’s been doing this ‘updating’ thing recently. Oh, and my emails keep on not sending, could you take a look at that? And this wireless printer never does what I want it to.”
Yes, it’s that time of the year again. Trading turkey for tech advice is a time-honored and always-awful ritual for anyone under the age of 30 who still has parents. This year, Apple has seen the oncoming tide of woe, realized it needs to curry favor with young people to keep iPhones hip, and has launched an app to help.
iPad sales have been trending downward for quite some time but Apple has no intention of giving up on its iconic tablet just yet. Per a new Barclays Research report obtained by MacRumors, Apple is currently planning to launch three new iPad models this coming March, one of which might very well revitalize Apple’s beleaguered tablet lineup.

About two weeks ago, Apple said that the company’s new AirPods weren’t going to hit store shelves as early as anticipated. Without getting into too much detail, Apple issued a prepared statement indicating that the company needed a “a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers.”
Recently, an optimistic, albeit sketchy, rumor hinted that Apple might begin shipping AirPods to retail outlets as early as late next week. Unfortunately, the rumor now appears to be off-the-mark in light of a new research report which claims that AirPods production might not even begin until December. And as if that weren’t frustrating enough, the initial production run is said to be for just limited quantities.
It’s been a long while since we’ve seen a significant update to the iPhone form factor. Indeed, the recently released iPhone 7 is essentially the same as the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6 before it. Now that’s not to say that the iPhone 7 is a boring device. Far from it, Apple’s latest and greatest smartphone is a surprisingly compelling device with all sorts of welcome improvements in performance and, at long last, battery life.
That notwithstanding, some iPhone owners are understandably eager for a fresh take on a form factor that has arguably gotten a little stale at this point. Not to worry, Apple’s 2017 iPhone, a device likely to be called the iPhone 8, will likely offer users the radical iPhone redesign they’ve been waiting for.
Ever since Apple introduced its new MacBook Pro about two weeks ago, the chorus of detractors who have been quick to point out everything that’s wrong with Apple’s new notebook has been incessant and deafening. By and large, developers and professionals are unhappy with the fact that they patiently waited for years for a meaningful MacBook Pro upgrade only to see Apple deliver a machine that uses the ‘Pro’ moniker rather loosely.
Customers who were quick to put in orders for Apple’s new Touch Bar equipped MacBook Pros may be receiving their devices a tad earlier than expected. While the initial delivery window for early buyers ranged from November 17 to November 25, we’re now seeing reports that Apple is preparing some units for delivery as early as November 11.
Apple doesn’t traditionally offer great Black Friday deals, although its products are highly coveted Christmas gifts. The company last year offered iTunes gift cards of varying amounts, depending on what you purchased. The company is yet to share its 2016 Black Friday deals, but the company already put up its 2016 Holiday Gift Guide. More →
Back in the good ole’ days, Apple would announce a product and you’d be able to pick it up in stores within a week or two. In fact, the Apple faithful, way back when, used to mercilessly mock tech companies who were prone to unveiling vaporware or introducing products that weren’t set to ship for months if not years on end.
