Tim Cook calls for unity inside Apple after Trump’s win

Donald Trump shocked the world early on Wednesday when he was confirmed to be the winner of the US presidential election. His victory generated polarized responses, and some of those reactions were heard inside of Apple. Tim Cook sent out a memo to staff in response to Trump’s election, calling for unity while saying that Apple’s “North Star hasn’t changed” now that Trump will be president

Hillary Clinton did not give a concession speech

Early on Wednesday, Donald Trump won the US presidential election against all the odds, denying Hillary Clinton a historic victory that would have marked a huge accomplishment. Clinton could have been the first female elected president in America, but that didn’t happen. The Democrat candidate conceded to Trump via a phone call, but she did not give a concession speech after that. Instead, John Podesta stepped up for an almost-concession speech.

NYC bombing suspect Ahmad Rahimi sourced explosive components from eBay

Ahmad Khan Rahami, the terror suspect accused of planting bombs across New York and New Jersey this past weekend, reportedly used eBay to source a number of components used in his explosive devices.

According to a complaint filed yesterday in New York City, Rahami didn’t even take serious measures to hide his identity during the planning stages of the attack. Using the user ID “ahmad rahimi,” Rahimi perused the popular online auction site to purchase items such as hundreds of ball bearings, electric igniters and other materials commonly associated with homemade explosive devices. On top of it all, all of the above items were delivered directly to Rahami’s former place of employ.

Trump finally said something so stupid and illegal, he had to pretend he was joking

It seemed as though this day would never come, but it has: Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said something so remarkably stupid that he actually had to pretend he wasn’t being serious at the time.

The run up to the 2016 presidential election in November will go down as one of the most bizarre and, quite frankly, sad times in the recent history of American politics. No matter who wins come November, we all lose. Of course, there’s losing and then there’s losing. And speaking of losing, an interesting series of events unfolded this week that forced Trump to finally walk back one of his ridiculous comments — something we really never thought we would see. Inmates broke out of a cell to save the life of a dying prison guard

Officers were probably preparing for the worst when hearing an increasing amount of noise coming from one of the floors of the Parker County jail on June 23rd. And at first it appeared as though their worst nightmares were coming true — camera footage showed inmates breaking out of a cell, with a security guard lying unconscious on the floor. Of course, things aren’t always as they appear. More →
