President-elect Trump has been in office for -71 days at this point, but the controversey is already beginning to flow. No, I don’t mean the anti-Trump protests; rather, this is Trump trying to literally rewrite his campaign pledges by just straight-up deleting them off his website.
Luckily, this is the internet, and it’s difficult to delete stuff permanently.
Donald Trump shocked the world early on Wednesday when he was confirmed to be the winner of the US presidential election. We’re still digesting the outcome of last night’s results, but reactions from world leaders and significant figures are starting to trickle in. Clinton has already taken the stage to officially concede, but one place remains particularly tight-lipped: the White House.
According to Politico, “There is no plan at the White House. They also never thought this could or would happen.” Although Obama has apparently called Trump to congratulate him and schedule a meeting to begin the transition process, there’s been no comment from the administration on the election results so far.
Early on Wednesday, Donald Trump won the US presidential election against all the odds, denying Hillary Clinton a historic victory that would have marked a huge accomplishment. Clinton could have been the first female elected president in America, but that didn’t happen. The Democrat candidate conceded to Trump via a phone call, but she did not give a concession speech after that. Instead, John Podesta stepped up for an almost-concession speech.
Against all odds and in stark disagreement with all polls, Donald Trump has been elected President of the United States by a substantial margin. Vote counting went into the early hours of the morning but it became apparent even before Tuesday rolled over into Wednesday that Hillary Clinton would not become the first female President, as she and so many had hoped. When all was said and done, and despite everything that was on the line, only 112 million Americans voted in this election, the lowest turnout since the 2000 election.

Millions of people along the southeast coast of the United States found themselves in harm’s way on Friday morning as Hurricane Matthew made landfall. The Category 3 hurricane is the most powerful storm to hit the US in a decade, having first developed at sea just over a week ago before making its way northwest toward the US. Officials are now saying that more than 300 people — at least 339 at the time of this writing — were killed by the storm in Haiti alone as it tore across parts of the Dominican Republic, Haiti and then Cuba. Ahmad Khan Rahami, the terror suspect accused of planting bombs across New York and New Jersey this past weekend, reportedly used eBay to source a number of components used in his explosive devices.
According to a complaint filed yesterday in New York City, Rahami didn’t even take serious measures to hide his identity during the planning stages of the attack. Using the user ID “ahmad rahimi,” Rahimi perused the popular online auction site to purchase items such as hundreds of ball bearings, electric igniters and other materials commonly associated with homemade explosive devices. On top of it all, all of the above items were delivered directly to Rahami’s former place of employ.
Photos and videos have begun to flood social media sites like Facebook and Twitter following reports that a SpaceX Falcon 9 reusable rocket exploded on a SpaceX launch pad at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Base in Florida. The news has not yet been confirmed by SpaceX, and it is unclear if there were any injuries as a result of the blast. There was no rocket launch planned to take place today, though it’s likely that the company was making preparations for its next scheduled launch in just two days on Saturday, September 3rd. More →
