Island Point Ave, Waterways, home sold $171,000 above reserve
A BRIGHTON first-home buyer has made a $1.07 million bid for a stunning Waterways home.
And it still fell short.
The property at 43 Island Point Ave sold for just $1000 more to a buyer coming across from Vermont South.
The sale gave the vendors a huge bonus, rising $171,000 above reserve at the October 29 auction, Barry Plant Mordialloc agent Paul Sinclair said.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house on 733sq m had attracted a pre-auction offer of $940,000 but the seller decided to proceed with planned sale date, Mr Sinclair said.
The decision paid off when five bidders made more than 30 bids. The resort-style home on 733sq m had luxury finishes and featured large bedrooms, four living areas including a theatre room, plus a covered outdoor dining and entertainment zone.
It offered a perfect summer entertaining area by an inviting pool. It also featured evaporative cooling, ducted heating, timber flooring, double garage, shed and rainwater tank.
