Inanam
Inanam is a town and sub-district of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. It is situated 10km from Kota Kinabalu city centre.
The town population consists of mainly the Dusun, and the Chinese who operate the shops. Of late however there is a large influx of immigrants both from the southern Philippines and Indonesia. Many of them are illegals and live in squatters. A considerable number of them however were controversially naturalised and relocated into low-cost housing settlements provided by the Malaysian government.
Kota Kinabalu City (North) Bus Terminal is located in Inanam. A substantial part of the sub-district near the town centre consists of a light industrial area. Towards the interior, traditional Dusun villages scatter the hill slopes, with fruit orchards and rubber smallholdings.

Sabah
Sabah (Malay pronunciation: [saˈbah]) is Malaysia's easternmost state, one of two Malaysian states on the island of Borneo. It is also one of the founding members of the Malaysian federation alongside Sarawak, Singapore (expelled in 1965) and the Federation of Malaya. Like Sarawak, this territory has an autonomous law especially in immigration which differentiates it from the rest of the Malaysian Peninsula states. It is located on the northern portion of the island of Borneo and known as the second largest state in the country after Sarawak, which it borders on its southwest. It shares a maritime border with the Federal Territory of Labuan on the west and with the Philippines to the north and northeast. The state's only international border is with the province of North Kalimantan of Indonesia in the south. The capital of Sabah is Kota Kinabalu, formerly known as Jesselton. Sabah is often referred to as the "Land Below The Wind", a phrase used by seafarers in the past to describe lands south of the typhoon belt.

Lion dance
Lion dance (simplified Chinese: 舞狮; traditional Chinese: 舞獅; pinyin: wǔshī) is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture and other Asian countries in which performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume. The lion dance is usually performed during the Chinese New Year and other Chinese traditional, cultural and religious festivals. It may also be performed at important occasions such as business opening events, special celebrations or wedding ceremonies, or may be used to honour special guests by the Chinese communities.
The Chinese lion dance is often mistakenly referred to as dragon dance. An easy way to tell the difference is that a lion is normally operated by two dancers, while a dragon needs many people. Also, in a lion dance, the performers' faces are only seen occasionally, since they are inside the lion. In a dragon dance, the performers' faces can be easily seen since the dragon is held on poles. Chinese lion dance fundamental movements can be found in most Chinese martial arts.

Roll of Film Episode 5 - Inanam, Sabah (Photography Project)
This is my fifth episode of Roll of Film. It is a self-challenging photography project recording the world I see in both video and negative format. To complete the challenge, I have to 1) finish a roll of black and white film in 90 minutes. 2) Process and scan the film myself. Inanam is a busy town just some 15 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu City. I believe through this photography project, I all will be able to enhance our photography skills and knowledge more efficiently. Day 3-6 in Sabah kota kinabalu, Malaysia Today, the capital of the Malaysian state of Sabah—nicknamed “KK”—still sits next to lush rainforests and tropical islands, but it’s now a growing city accessible by plane, ferry, or cruise ship. There’s Tanjung Aru Beach just 10 minutes away from the city center, where the locals flock to for its food stalls and bars. You can also visit the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park south of Kota Kinabalu. We saw and discovered a lot of things in our 6D5N stay in Sabah. It was indeed a paradise. Locals were amazing, great foods, awesome tourists attractions and a whole lot more. This is my fifth episode of Roll of Film. It is a self-challenging photography project recording the world I see in both video and negative format.
To complete the challenge, I have to
1) finish a roll of black and white film in 90 minutes.
2) Process and scan the film myself.
Inanam is a busy town just some 15 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu City.
I believe through this photography project, I all will be able to enhance our photography skills and knowledge more efficiently. I will be able to keep track of mistakes such as repeating shots on similar scenes and bad techniques.
Watching me going through the project, you get to enjoy places that I go to too!

The Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park[3] lies on its west and Mount Kinabalu, which gave the city its name, is located towards the east. Kota Kinabalu proper has a population of 452,058,[4] while the larger urban area, which includes the Penampang district, has an estimated population of 628,725.[4]
Kota Kinabalu is often known as KK within Malaysia and internationally. For the locals it is also known as Api-Api.[5] It is a major fishing destination and a popular gateway for travellers visiting Sabah and Borneo.[2][6] Kinabalu National Park is located about 90 kilometres from the city and there are many tourist attractions in and around the city. Kota Kinabalu is also one of the major industrial and commercial centres of East Malaysia. These two factors combine to make Kota Kinabalu one of the fastest growing cities in Malaysia.[7][8]
There are a number of cultural venues in Kota Kinabalu. The Sabah State Museum, situated near the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, is the main museum of Sabah.[3] In the vicinity of the museum are the Science and Technology Centre, Sabah Art Gallery, and the Ethno Botanic Gardens. Wisma Budaya Art Gallery in the city centre hosts some national as well as regional art exhibitions. The Hongkod Koisaan building in Penampang is home to the Kadazan-Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA).[92] It hosts the annual Kaamatan or Harvest Festival and the Unduk Ngadau beauty contest, which is held concurrently, in March. Monsopiad Cultural Village (Kampung Monsopiad) features cultural shows related to the Kadazan-Dusun culture. It is named after the legendary Kadazan-Dusun headhunting warrior, Monsopiad.[93]
Kota Kinabalu also features a number of shopping malls. These include Kompleks Karamunsing, Centre Point, Wisma Merdeka, Warisan Square, Plaza Wawasan, Kompleks Asia City,[3] City Mall, KK Plaza, Suria Sabah and 1Borneo, which is the largest hypermall in Kota Kinabalu.[69] Newly constructed malls in Kota Kinabalu include the Suria Sabah Shopping Mall, which currently holds GSC Kota Kinabalu, and Megalong Shopping Mall, which is situated in the district of Penampang.[69] Karamunsing, where Kompleks Karamunsing is situated, is an area that has more computer shops per capita than anywhere else in Sabah.[110] The weekly Gaya Street Sunday Market features a gathering of local hawkers selling a wide range of items from traditional ethnic cultural souvenirs to pets and flowers.[111] The Kota Kinabalu Handicraft Market (formerly known as the Filipino Market) features vendors selling traditional handicrafts, souvenirs and foodstuffs.[112]
There are many leisure spots and conserved areas in and around Kota Kinabalu. Anjung Samudra (KK Waterfront) is a waterfront entertainment spot in the city centre which features restaurants, cafes, pubs, and a nightclub. The Royal Sabah Turf Club in Tanjung Aru hosts weekly horse racing events but has since closed and moved to Tambalang Race Course in Tuaran due to the expansion of Kota Kinabalu International Airport. The North Borneo Railway, which begins its journey from Tanjung Aru station, offers a scenic tour of the countryside in the West Coast Division and the Interior Division.[15] The railway journey ends in the town of Tenom.[15] Sutera Harbour Golf & Country Club near the city centre was built on reclaimed land.[3] It features a golf and country club, a marina, and two hotels.
Tanjung Aru, located about 6 kilometres from the city centre, is one of the beaches along the West Coast. Its name was derived from the casuarina trees (locally called Aru trees) that grow on the shoreline.[97] The beach is over 2 kilometres in length and is complemented with a number food and drink stalls, restaurants, and night entertainment clubs. In the vicinity of Tanjung Aru lies the Kinabalu Golf Club, Prince Philip Botanical Park, KK Yacht Club, and Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Beach Resort. This beach is famous for its sunset.[98][99]

Day 3-6 in Sabah kota kinabalu, Malaysia
Today, the capital of the Malaysian state of Sabah—nicknamed “KK”—still sits next to lush rainforests and tropical islands, but it’s now a growing city accessible by plane, ferry, or cruise ship.
There’s Tanjung Aru Beach just 10 minutes away from the city center, where the locals flock to for its food stalls and bars. You can also visit the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park south of Kota Kinabalu.
We saw and discovered a lot of things in our 6D5N stay in Sabah. It was indeed a paradise. Locals were amazing, great foods, awesome tourists attractions and a whole lot more. Definitely, we'll be back in this tropical paradise.

Day 3-6 in Sabah kota kinabalu, Malaysia
