Petit is an EP by Japanese singer-songwriter Ua, released on October 21, 1995. Like its lead single, Petit also failed to chart on the Oricon charts. The EP was re-issued on September 22, 2005.

Horizon (festival)

Horizon is the annual science and technology festival of Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang. Horizon hosts a variety of events including competitions, exhibitions, lectures and workshops. Horizon aims to provide technically inclined Indian youth a national-level platform where their talent and expertise can be recognized and rewarded. Having grown rapidly since its nascent years, Horizon is attended by students across India.

History

Following some years in abeyance “Horizon” was revived in 2014.

The 3 day techno cultural festival featured many events including “Gully Cricket”, “Scavengio”"Troubleshooting”, “Google It”, “Junkyard wars”, “Roboveda”, “Lyrics

interpretation”, ”Zah reh”, and the IGIT version of ROADIES, the I-Roadies. .

A treasure hunt attracted over 500 searchers. Evenings featured live music by multiple bands from across the state.

Workshops covered among other things Android app development, Ethical hacking, and artificial intelligence.

Deep (Niacin album)

Deep is the third studio album from the jazz rock fusion trio Niacin, released in March 2000.

The album is heavily loaded with Billy Sheehan's powerful bass solos and features contributions from guest musicians Glenn Hughes on vocals and Steve Lukather on guitar.

"Deep" is a pop rap song by boy band East 17.

Song information

Written by Tony Mortimer, it was released on 23 January 1993, as the third single from the band's debut album Walthamstow (1993). It was a chart success becoming their first top five hit, charting at number 5 on the UK Singles Chart.

The music video uses intercut clips of the band performing the track in various locations whilst hanging out and playing pool in their local area.

Deep (Peter Murphy album)

Deep is the third solo studio album by English musician Peter Murphy. Produced by Simon Rogers, the album was released on 16 January 1990 through RCA and Beggars Banquet Records and features contributions from Murphy's backing band, The Hundred Men.

The album spawned three singles: "The Line Between the Devil's Teeth (And That Which Cannot Be Repeat)", "Cuts You Up" and "A Strange Kind of Love". The track "Cuts You Up" became a modern rock hit in 1990, spending seven weeks at the top of the U.S. charts and crossing over to Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at number 55. The other singles also charted on Modern Rock Tracks chart, peaking at number 18 and 21, respectively.

Critical reception

Ned Raggett of Allmusic praised the album, stating that "Deep showed Murphy balancing mass appeal and his own distinct art with perfection." He also wrote: " Murphy simply sounds like he's having the time of his life, singing both for the sheer joy of it and for the dramatic power of his commanding voice."

Dillinger (1945 film)

Dillinger is a 1945 gangster film telling the story of John Dillinger.

The film was directed by Max Nosseck. Dillinger was the first major film to star Lawrence Tierney. The B-movie was shot in black and white and features a smoke-bomb bank robbery edited into the film from the 1937 Fritz Lang film, You Only Live Once. The film was released on DVD by Warner Bros. for the Film Noir Classic Collections 2 in 2005 even though the film is generally regarded as not being film noir. Some sequences were shot at Big Bear Lake, California.

Awards

Philip Yordan was nominated for the Academy Award for Writing Original Screenplay, earning Monogram Pictures its only nomination.

Plot summary

The story begins with a newsreel summing up the gangster life of John Dillinger in detail. At the end of the newsreel, Dillinger's father (Victor Kilian) walks onto the stage and speaks to the movie audience about his son's childhood back in Indiana. He talks of John’s childhood as having been ordinary and not very eventful, but concedes that his son had ambitions and wanted to go his own way. The young Dillinger left his childhood town to find his fortune in Indianapolis, but soon ran out of money. The scene fades to a restaurant, where he is on a date and finds himself humiliated by the waiter who refuses to accept a check for the meal; unable to pay for the meal, he excuses himself, runs into a nearby grocery store and robs it for $7.20 in cash. He makes the clerk at the store believe he has a gun in his hand under the jacket.
