Police hold viewing sessions to return stolen tools to owners

POLICE want to reunite 500 stolen power tools with their owners, after a raid in Wantirna South earlier this week.

Victoria Police Senior Constable Alistair Parsons said detectives searched a home in Chappell Drive on Monday and seized the tools.

Police are appealing for anyone who has had power tools stolen in the area, particularly if they were stolen from a vehicle, to come to a viewing session and claim them.

They will have to provide proof of ownership.

Sessions will be held at Forest Hill police station on November 10, from 4pm-7pm, November 12, from 10am-4pm, and November 15, from 4pm-7pm.

A 44-year-old Wantirna South man has been charged with handling stolen goods, possessing the proceeds of crime, and possessing ammunition. He was remanded to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court today.
