Meantime the Senate is poised to vote on the single most important economic reform this country has faced in decades, and those who started this mutiny last night say stopping the bill is what it's all about. So spare a thought then for acting climate change minister Ian MacFarlane, the man who has spent the last six weeks negotiating an agreed compromise with the government.
