Deaths of Lizard Man, Bronson Ellery, and his ex-girlfriend Shelsea Schilling now ‘suspicious’

POLICE sources have said the deaths of Shelsea Schilling and former Bandidos associate Bronson Ellery were being treated as suspicious and initial investigations pointed to a double homicide, not a murder-suicide.

Ms Schilling’s mother, Bonnie Markwell Mobbs, reported her daughter missing before she was found dead in her ex-lover’s Southport unit on the Gold Coast on Friday, and Mr Ellery’s friends said the heavily tattooed aspiring muso, known as Lizard Man, had gone “off the grid”.

Police would not make official comment on the investigation yesterday as they continued to scour the scene. A post mortem is expected to be carried out on both bodies today after the pair were found dead in a Johnston St unit at 4.40pm on Friday.

Ms Schilling’s mother desperately called for help in a Facebook post on Friday, saying her 20-year-old daughter had not made contact with friends and family since Wednesday.

“Please help! Has anyone seen my daughter Shelsea Schilling since ... Wednesday afternoon? Feared missing. In Labrador. A missing persons has been filed,” she said in the post.

Friends were also unable to contact 24-year-old Mr Ellery before his death.

A close friend told TheCourier-Mail yesterday he had planned to catch up with the aspiring hardcore star to “make music” but could not get hold of him.

“This is sounding more like revenge or a hit type of death and she got in the way maybe and they took out a witness. It doesn’t add up.”

Mr Ellery was a former Bandidos bikie associate and had been in and out of jail in recent years.

Several detectives, uniform police and forensic officers spent yesterday at the grisly scene and obtained nearby CCTV footage.
