Losing All Blacks, winning Trump all part of tumultuous times

Jamie Heaslip celebrates Ireland's win over the All Blacks.

The Wallabies' spring tour of Europe campaign started with a somewhat surprising 32-8 thumping of Wales in Cardiff.  Surprising because Wales have been there or thereabouts for the past decade while the Australians were badly beaten in all sorts of ways at their last start, against the All Blacks in Wellington.

Back: Will Genia has joined the Wallabies in Edinburgh ahead of their clash with Scotland on Saturday.

Wallabies halfback Will Genia is "stoked" to be reunited with his Australian teammates ahead of their clash with Scotland but, like coach Michael Cheika, is trying not to think about the availability issue that could arise for a possible grand slam finale against England.

Why Phipps does not mind if he gets dropped

Nick Phipps will happily step aside to make way for returning Wallabies halfback Will Genia but says his own return to form against Wales was most satisfying for it showed Australia has enough spark in attack to be successful on their spring tour.

Ireland shock All Blacks to end record run

Stunning: Ireland celebrate after scoring against the All Blacks.

One hundred and eleven years of frustration, and maybe even anger, ended for Ireland this morning when they stunned the All Blacks by beating them 40-29 in Chicago.

Michael Cheika has returned serve at Glen Ella, saying he is glad the former Wallaby got it wrong by suggesting he was "on thin ice" after a lean run this year and questioning the Australian head coach's decision to pick players out of position.
