"psychedelic band originally from Long Island, New York.
Led by Steven Morgen, who simply named his band Morgen. Good effort, though pretty obscure. Trippy grooves with a lot of stone vibe.
Scary-horror themed songs. Nice creepy vocals and acid guitar. The Doors-ish.
The original sole 1969 recording was recently re-released on Probe label on 180 gram vinyl."

Mit 22 Jahren begann er seine Sängerkarriere in Jugoslawien, nachdem der gelernte Musiklehrer zuvor Klavier, Saxophon, Klarinette, Flöte und auch Kontrabass spielen gelernt hatte. In seiner Heimat bereits ein Star, kam er 1955 in die Bundesrepublik Deutschland als Musiker in einer 5-Mann-Combo. Einzelne Auftritte mit der Band hatte er auch in Leipzig und Berlin (DDR).
1959 war dann das Jahr des großen Durchbruchs. Robić nahm das Lied Morgen (Platz 2 in den deutschen Verkaufscharts), komponiert von Peter Moesser, auf und erzielte damit seinen größten Erfolg. Auch im Vereinigten Königreich und den Vereinigten Staaten kam der Titel in die dortigen Hitparaden (Platz 23 bzw. Platz 13) und wurde weit über eine Million Mal verkauft. Mit seinem zweiten Erfolg Mit 17 fängt das Leben erst an, einer Coverversion des Drifters-Hits Save the last dance for me aus dem Jahr 1960 traf er den Geschmack vieler Teenager. Er nahm insgesamt über 100 Musiktitel auf, darunter auch Jazz und Volkslieder.
Für die deutsch-jugoslawische Fernsehserie Ferien auf Lipiza (1966) sang er den deutschen Titelsong.
Robić war zeit seines Lebens in Jugoslawien und allen Nachfolgestaaten ein Star. Die letzten Jahre bis zu seinem Tod war er Ehrenvorsitzender der Kroatischen Musikerunion. Seine letzte Ruhestätte fand er auf dem Zagreber Mirogoj-Friedhof.

Morgen
A morgen was a unit of measurement of land area in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and the Dutch colonies, including South Africa and Taiwan. The size of a morgen varies from 1⁄2 to 2 1⁄2 acres, which equals approximately 0.2 to 1 hectare. It was also used in old Prussia, in the Balkans, Norway and Denmark, where it was equal to about two-thirds of an acre (0.27 ha).
The word is usually taken to be the same as the German and Dutch word for "morning". Similarly to the Imperial acre, it was approximately the amount of land tillable by one man behind an ox in the morning hours of a day. The morgen was commonly set at about 60–70% of the tagwerk (literally "day work") referring to a full day of ploughing. In 1869, the North German Confederation fixed the morgen at a quarter hectare (i.e. 2500 square meters) but in modern times most farmland work is measured in full hectares. The next lower measurement unit was the German "rute" or Imperial rod but the metric rod length of 5 metres never became popular. The morgen is still used in Taiwan today, called "kah"; 1 kah is roughly 2 acres or 9,000 m2.

Er nahm insgesamt über 100 Musiktitel auf, darunter auch Jazz und Volkslieder.
Für die deutsch-jugoslawische Fernsehserie Ferien auf Lipiza (1966) sang er den deutschen Titelsong.
