Stargate SG-1 (season 7)
Season seven of Stargate SG-1, an American-Canadian television series, began airing on June 13, 2003 on Sci Fi. The seventh season concluded after 22 episodes on March 9, 2004 on British Sky One, which overtook the Sci-Fi Channel in mid-season. The series was developed by Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner. Season seven regular cast members include Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Michael Shanks, and Don S. Davis.
Production
With "Fallen", Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson) rejoins the cast, and Corin Nemec (Jonas Quinn) gets billed as a "Guest Star" (besides "Fallen"/"Homecoming", he would have his only other guest appearance later in "Fallout"). George Touliatos previously played Pyrus, Shyla's father, in "Need." The scenes with the Goa'uld motherships flying in hyperspace are actually stock footage from the Season 2 episode "The Serpent's Lair." Director Martin Wood has a cameo in "Fallen" as the man in the elevator with Jonas at the beginning of the episode. Peter DeLuise, who directed "Fragile Balance", provided the voice of Loki in the same episode. Christopher Heyerdahl, who played Pallan in "Revisions", would later play the recurring characters of Halling and the Wraith 'Todd' on Stargate Atlantis. Peter LaCroix previously played the Ashrak in "In the Line of Duty".

Lifeboat (rescue)
A rescue lifeboat is a boat rescue craft which is used to attend a vessel in distress, or its survivors, to rescue crew and passengers. It can be hand pulled, sail powered or powered by an engine. Lifeboats may be rigid, inflatable or rigid-inflatable combination hulled vessels.
Overview
There are generally three types of boat, in-land (used on lakes and rivers), in-shore (used closer to shore) and off-shore (into deeper waters and further out to sea). A rescue lifeboat is a boat designed with specialised features for searching for, rescuing and saving the lives of people in peril at sea or in estuaries.
In the United Kingdom and Ireland rescue lifeboats are typically vessels manned by volunteers, intended for quick dispatch, launch and transit to reach a ship or individuals in trouble at sea. Off-shore boats are referred to as 'All-weather' and generally have a range of 150–250 nautical miles. Characteristics such as capability to withstand heavy weather, fuel capacity, navigation and communication devices carried, vary with size.

Free-Fall Lifeboat - Launching & Recovery Of Free Fall Lifeboats
The free-fall lifeboat concept first came to light in 1897 when Swedish designer A.E. Falk patented a blueprint of an enclosed lifeboat capable of sliding off a ship stern. Thirty years later, the Bay and River Navigation Company’ s Capt White proposed a “unsinkable submarine lifeboat”. It wasn’ t until 1977 that the maritime world witnessed the first manned-launch of free-fall lifeboat from the stern of the m/s TARCOOLA at Oresundsavarvet Shipyard. The benefits of free-fall lifeboat are clear: during rapid evacuation in emergencies, the boat slides out from a ramp onboard the ship/installation and hits the water well away from the ship or installation with a high positive forward motion. The free-fall lifeboat concept first came to light in 1897 when Swedish designer A.E. Falk patented a blueprint of an enclosed lifeboat capable of sliding off a ship stern. Thirty years later, the Bay and River Navigation Company’ s Capt White proposed a “unsinkable submarine lifeboat”. It wasn’ t until 1977 that the maritime world witnessed the first manned-launch of free-fall lifeboat from the stern of the m/s TARCOOLA at Oresundsavarvet Shipyard.
The benefits of free-fall lifeboat are clear: during rapid evacuation in emergencies, the boat slides out from a ramp onboard the ship/installation and hits the water well away from the ship or installation with a high positive forward motion. Passengers are safe and secure in an enclosed cabin, safely strapped to anatomically-shaped seats. The lifeboat system is robust and can withstand high winds, powerful waves and extreme weather conditions. Makers state that testing boats in free fall do not affect the structural condition and claim that some boats have been dropped over 2000 times without significant damage.
To recover the free-fall lifeboat two solutions can be adopted: an integral recovery system or a simple ramp and a combined lifesaving and provision crane. Integral recovery system consists of a pivoting A-frame that sits above the sliding ramp and is moved by two hydraulic cylinders. A wire rope engages the boat and lifts it to the required height before the A-frame is pivoted inboard to drop the boat into the correct position. However, a freefall craft cannot be used as rescue boat, so a six-man rescue boat is required in addition to the lifeboat.

Green Lily: Lerwick lifeboat crew in dramatic Gold Medal rescue of sailors from sinking ship
A retelling of the heroic rescue of the Green Lily by the crew of Lerwick Lifeboat Station. On 19 November 1997, one of the most dramatic rescues in RNLI history took place. Battling rough seas and gale-force winds, the lifeboat crew worked with the Coastguard to save 15 sailors from the sinking cargo vessel. It was a rescue of triumph and tragedy. Coxswain Hewitt Clark received a Gold Medal and his crew Bronze Medals, for their role. Tragically, Coastguard winchman Bill Deacon, who was swept from the deck by a huge wave after rescuing ten people, died in the rescue. The RNLI has recognised his courage with a posthumous Thanks on Vellum, with a joint Vellum also going to the remainder of the aircraft’s crew. Lifeboat crew view | Winch rescue
Experience a helicopter rescue, as seen from the point of view of our crew aboard their lifeboat. Both Newcastle and Portaferry RNLI attended the Dillon Owen, which had ran aground. Five fishermen were successfully winched and airlifted to safety by Rescue 116 Dublin SAR. Initially our crews had attempted to tow the vessel off the rocks. But due to worsening weather and tidal conditions, it was decided after numerous attempts to evacuate the crew of the vessel instead. Amazing moment RNLI rescue two boys swept out to sea in Lyme Regis
Archie Woollacott (left) and Bozhidrar Bobev (right), both 14, were enjoying the scorching temperatures yesterday before a strong current left them both unable to swim to shore.The friends were swept out to sea after one jumped from the harbour wall into the River Axe in Axemouth, Devon and began to be pulled into the ocean, with the other jumping in after him. Luckily the coastguard were alerted and reached the boys within ten minutes, who were then winched to safety by an air ambulance. A retelling of the heroic rescue of the Green Lily by the crew of Lerwick Lifeboat Station. On 19 November 1997, one of the most dramatic rescues in RNLI history took place. Battling rough seas and gale-force winds, the lifeboat crew worked with the Coastguard to save 15 sailors from the sinking cargo vessel.
It was a rescue of triumph and tragedy. Coxswain Hewitt Clark received a Gold Medal and his crew Bronze Medals, for their role. Tragically, Coastguard winchman Bill Deacon, who was swept from the deck by a huge wave after rescuing ten people, died in the rescue. The RNLI has recognised his courage with a posthumous Thanks on Vellum, with a joint Vellum also going to the remainder of the aircraft’s crew.

The boy’s family and a member of the public on the beach called 999 for the Coastguard as the youngster was blown out to sea with the volunteer crew at Dungeness quickly launching to search the area. Rescue footage released by the RNLI shows the moment the volunteers found the boy over a mile out to sea.

Both Newcastle and Portaferry RNLI attended the Dillon Owen, which had ran aground. Five fishermen were successfully winched and airlifted to safety by Rescue 116 Dublin SAR.
Initially our crews had attempted to tow the vessel off the rocks. But due to worsening weather and tidal conditions, it was decided after numerous attempts to evacuate the crew of the vessel instead. The boat subsequently sank.

Archie Woollacott (left) and Bozhidrar Bobev (right), both 14, were enjoying the scorching temperatures yesterday before a strong current left them both unable to swim to shore.The friends were swept out to sea after one jumped from the harbour wall into the River Axe in Axemouth, Devon and began to be pulled into the ocean, with the other jumping in after him. Luckily the coastguard were alerted and reached the boys within ten minutes, who were then winched to safety by an air ambulance.

The free-fall lifeboat concept first came to light in 1897 when Swedish designer A.E. Falk patented a blueprint of an enclosed lifeboat capable of sliding off a ship stern. Thirty years later, the Bay and River Navigation Company’ s Capt White proposed a “unsinkable submarine lifeboat”. It wasn’ t until 1977 that the maritime world witnessed the first manned-launch of free-fall lifeboat from the stern of the m/s TARCOOLA at Oresundsavarvet Shipyard.
The benefits of free-fall lifeboat are clear: during rapid evacuation in emergencies, the boat slides out from a ramp onboard the ship/installation and hits the water well away from the ship or installation with a high positive forward motion. Passengers are safe and secure in an enclosed cabin, safely strapped to anatomically-shaped seats. The lifeboat system is robust and can withstand high winds, powerful waves and extreme weather conditions. Makers state that testing boats in free fall do not affect the structural condition and claim that some boats have been dropped over 2000 times without significant damage.
To recover the free-fall lifeboat two solutions can be adopted: an integral recovery system or a simple ramp and a combined lifesaving and provision crane. Integral recovery system consists of a pivoting A-frame that sits above the sliding ramp and is moved by two hydraulic cylinders. A wire rope engages the boat and lifts it to the required height before the A-frame is pivoted inboard to drop the boat into the correct position. However, a freefall craft cannot be used as rescue boat, so a six-man rescue boat is required in addition to the lifeboat.

A retelling of the heroic rescue of the Green Lily by the crew of Lerwick Lifeboat Station. On 19 November 1997, one of the most dramatic rescues in RNLI history took place. Battling rough seas and gale-force winds, the lifeboat crew worked with the Coastguard to save 15 sailors from the sinking cargo vessel.
It was a rescue of triumph and tragedy. Coxswain Hewitt Clark received a Gold Medal and his crew Bronze Medals, for their role. Tragically, Coastguard winchman Bill Deacon, who was swept from the deck by a huge wave after rescuing ten people, died in the rescue. The RNLI has recognised his courage with a posthumous Thanks on Vellum, with a joint Vellum also going to the remainder of the aircraft’s crew.

Incredible rescue: 11-year-old at sea a mile away from shore | RNLI: rescued an 11-year-old boy after he drifted more than a mile out to sea on an orange inflatable dinghy. The boy’s family and a member of the public on the beach called 999 for the Coastguard as the youngster was blown out to sea with the volunteer crew at Dungeness quickly launching to search the area. Rescue footage released by the RNLI shows the moment the volunteers found the boy over a mile out to sea.

Experience a helicopter rescue, as seen from the point of view of our crew aboard their lifeboat.
Both Newcastle and Portaferry RNLI attended the Dillon Owen, which had ran aground. Five fishermen were successfully winched and airlifted to safety by Rescue 116 Dublin SAR.
Initially our crews had attempted to tow the vessel off the rocks. But due to worsening weather and tidal conditions, it was decided after numerous attempts to evacuate the crew of the vessel instead. The boat subsequently sank.

Archie Woollacott (left) and Bozhidrar Bobev (right), both 14, were enjoying the scorching temperatures yesterday before a strong current left them both unable to swim to shore.The friends were swept out to sea after one jumped from the harbour wall into the River Axe in Axemouth, Devon and began to be pulled into the ocean, with the other jumping in after him. Luckily the coastguard were alerted and reached the boys within ten minutes, who were then winched to safety by an air ambulance.
