Its very rare that I come across a new site where all the conditions are right, but this time I knocked it out of the park. I found the spot the day after they dug the pit and so the material was fresh and laden with fossil bearing material. Since they often drive heavy machines all over the dirt, we had to hunt it every opportunity we could and it paid off. Don't let the megalodon tooth in the first shot fool you - This is one of the best oligocene sites in recent memory with a wide variety of species in excellent condition. We found angustidens, giant thresher, tiger, mako, other sharks, various fish, squalodon whale, and more shark vertebrae than I can ever remember finding at a site.

Hunting Summerville Shark Teeth like there is no Tomorrow
Its very rare that I come across a new site where all the conditions are right, but this time I knocked it out of the park. I found the spot the day after they dug the pit and so the material was fresh and laden with fossil bearing material. Since they often drive heavy machines all over the dirt, we had to hunt it every opportunity we could and it paid off. Don't let the megalodon tooth in the first shot fool you - This is one of the best oligocene sites in recent memory with a wide variety of species in excellent condition. We found angustidens, giant thresher, tiger, mako, other sharks, various fish, squalodon whale, and more shark vertebrae than I can ever remember finding at a site.
