Arms drill of the Fraser Highlanders by its reenactment unit during the highland games in Maxville, Ontario, Canada during August 2004. The Fraser Highlanders were the largest British unit at the Battle of the Plains of Abraham which resulted in the conquest of Quebec by the British. The field on which the battle took place was once owned by Abraham Martin and had been seized by the French government some years before because Abraham Martin was a Protestant. The unit was not used in earlier attacks in the campaign because it was considered to be of questionable loyalty. The father of the colonel of the regiment had been executed in the Tower of London for treason.

Abraham (/ˈeɪbrəˌhæm, -həm/ (Hebrew: אַבְרָהָם, 
listen )), birthname Abram, is the first of the three biblical patriarchs. His story, told in chapters 11 through 25 of the Book of Genesis, plays a prominent role in Judaism, Christianity, Islam and the Bahá'í Faith.
According to Jewish tradition and the Bible's internal chronology, Abraham was born in the year 1948 from Creation (1813 BCE). To date, there has been little if any archaeological or other scientific evidence to confirm his existence at that time. Scholars variously consider Abraham to have lived as late as the seventh century BCE, or that he is a later, literary construct and not a historical person. Potentially, excavation of his traditional burial site, the Cave of the Patriarchs at Hebron, along with carbon dating and/or DNA analysis from the bodies in comparison with the shared Y-chromosomal genes among Jewish and Arab people, his patriarchal offspring by tradition, could provide evidence confirming his existence and chronology.

Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln (
i/ˈeɪbrəhæm ˈlɪŋkən/; February 12, 1809 – April 15, 1865) was the 16th President of the United States, serving from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Lincoln led the United States through its Civil War—its bloodiest war and its greatest moral, constitutional, and political crisis. In doing so, he preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government, and modernized the economy.
Born in Hodgenville, Kentucky, Lincoln grew up on the western frontier in Kentucky and Indiana. Largely self-educated, he became a lawyer in Illinois, a Whig Party leader, and a member of the Illinois House of Representatives, in which he served for twelve years. Elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1846, Lincoln promoted rapid modernization of the economy through banks, tariffs, and railroads. Because he had originally agreed not to run for a second term in Congress, and because his opposition to the Mexican–American War was unpopular among Illinois voters, Lincoln returned to Springfield and resumed his successful law practice. Reentering politics in 1854, he became a leader in building the new Republican Party, which had a statewide majority in Illinois. In 1858, while taking part in a series of highly publicized debates with his opponent and rival, Democrat Stephen A. Douglas, Lincoln spoke out against the expansion of slavery, but lost the U.S. Senate race to Douglas.

Arms drill of the Fraser Highlanders by its reenactment unit during the highland games in Maxville, Ontario, Canada during August 2004. The Fraser Highlanders were the largest British unit at the Battle of the Plains of Abraham which resulted in the conquest of Quebec by the British. The field on which the battle took place was once owned by Abraham Martin and had been seized by the French government some years before because Abraham Martin was a Protestant. The unit was not used in earlier attacks in the campaign because it was considered to be of questionable loyalty. The father of the colonel of the regiment had been executed in the Tower of London for treason.

It includes comedy, choreography, fun costumes, and amazing vocals. The director of Songfest is Mrs. Amy Fraser, assistant professor of music. Fraser works with each of the social clubs as well as the hosts and hostesses to make the show the entertainment highlight of the year. The 2016 cast included Bre Goben, Troy Rowen, Abby Gonzalez, Dani Panlensky, Gabrielle Siebenaler, Taylor Abraham, Grant Seufferlein, Corey Holmes, and Nathan Clark. The show was directed by Amy Fraser and assistant directed by Nolan Henningson.

Now in its 39th year, Songfest is a high energy musical review performed by York College students during Spring Panther Days weekend. It includes comedy, choreography, fun costumes, and amazing vocals. The director of Songfest is Mrs. Amy Fraser, assistant professor of music. Fraser works with each of the social clubs as well as the hosts and hostesses to make the show the entertainment highlight of the year.
