COULD this be Australia’s coolest office?

Flight Centre is giving Google a run for its money with their new Silicon Valley-esqe space at Brisbane’s South Bank, complete with a sky bar, gym, aeroplane- and cruise-ship-shaped meeting rooms and multi-storey slide.

Although the slide started out as an April Fool’s joke, its now a main feature of the new office, with employing now whizzing between floors.

Forget waiting for elevators or walking down stairs, employees now whiz between floors.

Even Flight Centre’s chief executive Graham “Skroo” Turner thinks the new addition is pretty cool.

“You get a lot of people mixing and you see people more now,” he said.

“I’m often sitting in the meeting room and watch people popping out the bottom.”

There’s a bunch of new cool features including a rooftop restaurant, outdoor BBQ space, Friday afternoon drinks in the disco-like bar, a gym with 42 classes running weekly and a view of the city skyline, a massage room, beauty room and comfortable work pods.

But its not the first slide to make Flight Centre famous. The Queensland travel company is renown for its Christmas slip-and-slide. It is a regular social media hit with hashtags including #thewolfofqueenst.

Organisers are already mapping out where this years slide will run in the new office digs.
