SUN, sand and surf was the main drawcard for Yanks looking to ditch the land of the free for Queensland in the wake of Donald Trump becoming US President Elect.

Seven out of the top 10 Queensland suburbs searched by Americans in the three days surrounding Mr Trump’s win were beachside ones, according to Realestate.com.au.

Brisbane City topped the Queensland list of searches by Americans, but seven beachside suburbs followed including Port Douglas, Noosa Heads and Surfers Paradise.

Trinity Beach was sixth, Burleigh Heads eighth and then Palm Beach and Coolum Beach.

Brisbane suburb Ashgrove was a surprise showing up in fifth spot, but there was no explaining how resource-downturn hit Moranbah made the cut, coming in at seventh place.

Don’t be too troubled about the thought of being inundated with panicked left-leaning American voters though, as the vast bulk of the interest by Americans went south, according to the figures by the US’s biggest real estate site, Realtor.com.

Sydney headed the top 10 most popular searches on Realtor.com’s Australian real estate listings during Trump’s victory - and it also had three suburbs make the national list.

Bondi Beach was in seventh spot nationally, followed by Manly in eighth position and high end Mosman in ninth place.

Adelaide and Melbourne saw higher hits than Brisbane City in second and third spots in the top 10, while Perth was fifth, followed by Hobart.
