Bo Koster (born August 22, 1974) is the keyboard player and background vocalist for the rock band My Morning Jacket.
Koster grew up in Lakewood, Ohio, a city in the Greater Cleveland Metropolitan Area. He attended Lakewood High, Cleveland Institute of Music and Berklee College of Music.
Prior to joining My Morning Jacket, Koster worked as an associate and segment producer for several television documentaries, including Modern Marvels and Haunted History.
Koster has also collaborated with, among others, Laura Viers, Neko Case, Carl Broemel, City & Colour and Sam Outlaw. In 2010, he co-produced Delta Spirit’s History from Below.
Koster is an avid basketball fan, especially of his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
My Morning Jacket is an American rock band formed in Louisville, Kentucky in 1998. The band currently consists of vocalist/guitarist Jim James, bassist Tom Blankenship, drummer Patrick Hallahan, guitarist Carl Broemel, and keyboardist Bo Koster. The band's sound, rooted in rock and country, is often experimental and psychedelic. The group amassed a following beginning in the 2000s in part due to their live performances.
The group first found success in Europe after the release of their debut album, The Tennessee Fire (1999). Their next release, At Dawn (2001), led to a large stateside following and preceded several lineup changes. After signing to major label ATO Records, the group released two albums, It Still Moves (2003) and Z (2005), with the latter representing a critical breakthrough. Their next release, Evil Urges (2008), was more polarizing for fans and critics, while Circuital (2011), their sixth album, saw a more measured response. After many years of side projects and touring, the band's seventh album, The Waterfall, was released in 2015. The group's eighth album is set to be released in 2016.
James Edward Olliges, Jr. (born April 27, 1978), professionally known as Jim James or Yim Yames, is an American vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the rock band My Morning Jacket.
James grew up in the Highlands-Douglass neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. He attended St. Martha grade school and graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1996. James briefly attended the University of Kentucky, studying art.
Prior to forming My Morning Jacket, James was the vocalist and guitarist of Month of Sundays, currently known as Mont de Sundua.
As the vocalist, frontman, producer and lead songwriter for My Morning Jacket, James has been instrumental in defining the sound of the band, from the haunting reverb of The Tennessee Fire to the amalgam of reggae, Americana, and folk that was the Z, which he co-produced with John Leckie. He was given an "Esky" for best songwriter in Esquire's 2006 Esky Music Awards in the April issue.
James typically plays rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar, and occasional lead guitar on My Morning Jacket songs. He played the role of the band leader in the Bob Dylan biopic I'm Not There, singing the song "Going to Acapulco", with Calexico as his backing band, which was featured on the soundtrack of the film. Rolling Stone listed James among their "20 New Guitar Gods" along with fellow My Morning Jacket guitarist Carl Broemel. In 2008, James, along with former My Morning Jacket guitarist and cousin Johnny Quaid, formed Removador Recordings and Solutions record label. The label, as described on its website, functions "on the simple principal of yielding the highest annual percentage of aural joy back into the hearts and minds of investors and shareholders with ease and convenience". He contributed vocals on The Decemberists' 2009 album The Hazards of Love.
Morning is the period of time between midnight and noon or, more commonly, the interval between sunrise and noon. Morning precedes afternoon, evening, and night in the sequence of a day. Originally, the term referred to sunrise.
The name (which comes from the Middle English word morwening) was formed from the analogy of evening using the word "morn" (in Middle English morwen), and originally meant the coming of the sunrise as evening meant the beginning of the close of the day. The Middle English morwen dropped over time and became morwe, then eventually morrow, which properly means "morning", but was soon used to refer to the following day (i.e., "tomorrow"), as in other Germanic languages—English is unique in restricting the word to the newer usage. The Spanish word "mañana" has two meanings in English: "morning," and "tomorrow," along with the word "morgen" in Dutch and German which also means both "morning," and "tomorrow." Max Weber, (General Economic History, pp23) states that the English word "morning" and the German word "Morgen" both signify the size of land strip "which an ox could plow in a day without giving out". "Tagwerk" in German, and "a day's work" in English mean the same. A Good morning in this sense might mean a good day's plow.

Watch Twin Limb ft. Jim James and Bo Koster (My Morning Jacket) live cover of “Fade Into You” by Mazzy Star Twin Limb is self described as “dream pop”— only in their variation, it’s a dream pop that combines the “pop” of Warhol’s Chelsea Girls with the jagged dream states of Surrealism. Disquieting, emotively loaded, boldly defined yet wide open to interpretation, Haplo is more like the musical equivalent of the paintings or automatic poetry of the early Surrealists. And it seemed
You were on your own
I was sure
But I think I denied it anyway
And it seemed
You were on your own
I was sure
But I think I denied it anyway
It seems that I need you
It seems that I do
It seems I could call you
It seems that I could
And I am so much closer now
I will wait for the right way to tell you what I feel
It seems that I need you
It seems that I do
It seems I could call you
It seems that I could
Wish I could tell you what it's like
I haven't been here in many years
I never thought of you like this
I haven't been here in many years
It seems that I need you
It seems that I do
It seems I could call you
It seems that I could
It seems that I need you
It seems that I do
It seems I could call you
