GIRLS as young as 10-years-old are being sold to tourists who want to take their virginity in one of Colombia’s most famous cities.

Gangs in the city of Medellín, known for being the base of infamous drug baron Pablo Escobar, lure vulnerable girls from poor backgrounds to fuel their wicked business.

The sick practice dates back to when Escobar’s gang, the Medellín Cartel, rounded up innocent young women to sell in underground virgin auctions.

A report in The Daily Beast reveals that, despite the Medellín Cartel losing its power long ago, young girls were still being sold to gangs.

However these girls are now also being abused by wealthy tourists, according to the Consult Center for Urban Conflict (C3), a non-governmental organisation based in the city.

Despite his cartel’s notoriety as a murderous and abusive gang, Escobar is still held in high regard by some in the city and is the subject of hit TV show Narcos.

Oscar Chaparro, from C3, said: “Medellín is a city that has progressed in recent years, but this attracts a lot of people with money. This has diversified the sex trade that has existed for a long time.”

The Medellín Cartel also used to lure vulnerable women to depraved, drug-fuelled orgies and then kill them to stop them speaking out.

On one occasion cops found the bodies of 24 women, all under the age of 19, according to Semana Magazine.
