A YEAR after Paris was hit by a series of organised, deadly terrorist attacks, the worst hit Bataclan theatre will reopen.

Sting will be the first to perform at the newly-renovated concert hall with all proceeds of the November 12 show going to the charities Life For Paris and 13 Novembre: Fraternité Verité.

The concert will take place 364 days after the Islamic State attack which left 130 people in Paris dead.

The mass shooting occurred on November 13 while American band Eagles of Death Metal were playing to a crowd of 1,500. 89 people died as a result of the theatre attack including two of the shooters who detonated their suicide vests.

Sting said in a statement that he wants the concert to honour their memories and celebrate “the life and music this historic theatre represents.”

English musician Pete Doherty will be next to perform on November 16, four days after Sting’s tribute concert.
