GABLE Tostee has told 60 Minutes there was, “nothing an ambulance could do” for his Tinder date Warriena Wright, after she plunged from his 14th storey balcony in 2014.

In a new clip released by Channel Nine ahead of his highly-anticipated 60 Minutes interview to screen on Sunday night, Mr Tostee said there was “no right or wrong way” to act in such a situation, when asked why he did not call emergency services.

Ms Wright, a New Zealand tourist, fell to her death from Mr Tostee’s 14th storey balcony about 2am on August 8, 2014, after a violent fight between the pair inside his apartment.

They had met for the first time just hours before.

The 30-year-old carpet layer was acquitted of Ms Wright’s murder and manslaughter after a nine day trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court last month.

In the new clip released on Friday, Mr Tostee defended his action after realising that Ms Wright was no longer on his balcony, after he shut her out there that night.

“Nobody’s trained for a situation like this, it’s like being hit by lightning, there is no right or wrong way to proceed from there,” he said.

Reporter Liam Bartlett disagreed.

“If I can humbly suggest there might be one right way. How about calling an ambulance?”

Mr Tostee replied: “As I said what had happened had happened and there was nothing an ambulance could do would change that.”

Mr Tostee’s first call after Ms Wright’s fall was an unanswered one to his lawyer.

Soon after he left his apartment, wandering aimlessly around Surfers Paradise for nearly two hours, he called his father Gray to come and collect him.

Mr Tostee is rumoured to have been paid $150,000 for the 60 Minutes interview, which was filmed over four days on the Gold Coast last week.

In the first clip released earlier this week, he said he put Ms Wright on the apartment balcony to stop her attacking him.

The drunk 26-year-old then fell, while attempting to climb over the balcony to the balcony below.

He said she was “a guest in my home” and that, “it wasn't supposed to be this”.

“I restrained her to stop her from attacking me,” he said.

“I don’t know what else to do. I wanted it to stop.”

Mr Tostee’s paid interview has prompted outrage from the public and police who investigated the case.

“It’s disgusting,’’ one senior detective told the The Courier-Mail earlier this week.

“There’s a lot of anger among police about this. Of course we respect the court’s decision to find him not guilty but for him to now do a paid interview, after everything this poor girl’s family has been through, is horrific.

“It might be legally OK but for Tostee to profit from Warriena’s death is morally repugnant.’’

The officer said the deal was a “sad indictment” on the media.

Ms Wright’s family were approached to take part in the interview but declined.

Mr Tostee’s own parents, Gray and Helene, were interviewed, as was his solicitor Nick Dore.

It is understood Channel 9 won a bidding war with its rival — Channel 7’s Sunday Night program — to secure the interview.

It will screen at 8.30pm this Sunday.
