The Clark Brothers, Steve (born 1924) and James ("Jimmy") (c. 1922 – 30 October 2009), were thought to be the last of the "brothers" acts of tap-dancing's golden age.
The gospel-singing Clark Family grew up in poverty in Philadelphia. By the age of 12 Steve, the youngest, was a seasoned soloist, singing and dancing. The two brothers' first engagement was at the Cotton Club in Harlem - when they were 15 and 17. Frank Sinatra told them to move to Britain after the war, which probably saved their careers.
The Clark Brothers gave their first British performance for King George VI and became favourites in working men's clubs. They wrote hits for Max Bygraves and appeared at the London Palladium; and they opened a "University of Showbusiness" in London, where Cliff Richard and Bonnie Langford were among their pupils.
Jimmy died on 30 October 2009 aged 87. He and his brother Steve lived together in Dunstable. Jimmy's funeral took place on 17 November at St Peter's Priory Dunstable.
Clark is an English language surname, ultimately derived from the Latin clericus meaning "scribe", "secretary" or a scholar within a religious order, referring to someone who was educated. Clark evolved from "clerk". First records of the name are found in 12th century England. The name has many variants.
Clark is the twenty-seventh most common surname in the United Kingdom, including placing fourteenth in Scotland. Clark is also an occasional given name, as in the case of Clark Gable.
According to the 1990 United States Census, Clark was the twenty-first most frequently encountered surname, accounting for 0.23% of the population. Notable people with the surname include:
Stephen Maynard "Steve" Clark (23 April 1960 – 8 January 1991) was an English musician. He was a guitarist and principal songwriter for the British hard rock band, Def Leppard, until 1991 when he died from alcohol poisoning. In 2007, Clark was ranked No. 11 on Classic Rock Magazine's "100 Wildest Guitar Heroes".
Stephen Maynard Clark was born and raised in Hillsborough, South Yorkshire, the northwestern suburb of Sheffield, England. From an early age, he showed an interest in music, attending a concert held by Cliff Richard and the Shadows aged 6. At 11, he received his first guitar which was purchased by his father on the condition that he learned to play. Clark studied classical guitar for a year before one day he discovered Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin at a friend's house.
When Clark left school his first employer was an engineering firm called GEC Traction where he worked as a lathe operator. He was 3 years into a 4-year apprenticeship with the firm by the time his band Def Leppard decided to sign a professional record deal with Phonogram Records.

Genres: Drama, Short,Gone but never forgotten! - April 23, 1960 - January 8, 1991 This tribute video to Steve took me back to the days when he was THE rock star, he owned the stage. I was lucky to have known him, worked with him, but most of all we were great friends and I was proud to be taking care of his guitars. He was a diamond character, I will always remember him for the unabashed respect/love of life we shared. We all miss you pal" - Malvin Mortimer (Friend & Tour Manager)

This video is about a Sheffield Yorkshire Lad named Steve Clark. Steve spent his life creating music, whether it be writing, singing, playing, or performing. He is legendary in that the songs he wrote with the band Def Leppard have given pleasure to millions of people- Def Leppard fans or not. Unfortunately for us...Steve died at the top of his career at the young age of 30 years old. This day January 8th 2016 marks the 25th year of his passing. I wanted to do something special in his memory, and though I had bigger plans and expectations for a tribute - this is the best thing I could come up with on my own. The photos in here are from my own scrapbooks- I picked a bunch you haven't seen before and there are more where these came from! I hope you enjoy sharing some of the heartfelt memorie...

This venue has traditionally been one of the most coveted places in the Detroit area to be heard. McDonalds and Farmer Jack (grocery chain) has sponsered this for many years. It was an honor to take that stage after the two generations before have.
I've been waiting long enough for this album to resurface and I finally found a leak to this great album by the male heirs to the Clark Dynasty: Larry, Lorenzo, and Derrick Clark, the sons of Dr. Denise Clark Bradford, nephews of The Clark Sisters and grandsons of the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. Enjoy!

During Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Side, Rylan was speaking to Emma about the latest events from the house before they were both stopped in their tracks. "Stay still there is a big spider look," said Rylan, as he started to freakout. "Why is it that colour?!" Emma the feared it would be poisonous. Finding out anything about Steve is an impossibility, since he shares the same name of the late Def Leppard guitarist. This Steve (per my chart book) was from Kentucky, and this 1984 #68 hit was his sole charting single, and my RANDOM PICK of the day. Enjoy!

Links: Steve’s website: http://clarkliving.com Steve’s email: Steve@clarkliving.com This was one of my favorite interviews thus far. Steve Clark is a Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty in Pasadena. Steve was a professional drummer for fifteen years in rock bands, living in and out of hotels and tour buses. He’s one of the coolest guys I’ve ever spoken to and he has a great vibe and energy. Sadly, he makes me look like the uptight nerd that I am!!! After many years on the road as a drummer, Steve decided that it was time for him to stop traveling and spend more time at home with his family. Steve has developed a passion for finding the perfect home. He’s authentic and real and it comes through with his clients (checkout the video interviews in his website). His business has sk...
