Bad news, I'm afraid. Actually, maybe good news for the Aussies. Play has been officially abandoned for the day due to rain after a conference between match officials and ground staff. It means that play over the remaining three days will start half an hour earlier at 10am. And given how quickly events moved on day one, you'd think there's still every chance of a result. We'll wrap it up there, Rohan Connolly signing off here at Blog Central, we'll see you back here at 9.30am tomorrow, hopefully for a bit more action than we got today!

Update
Not raining as heavily now, but still raining. If it continues, match officials will meet with the curator at 2pm to discuss ground conditions. It's not looking good for any play today to be honest.
Spectator banned
A man has been banned from going to the cricket in Australia for three years after he allegedly wrote racist graffiti aimed at a South African player at Blundstone Arena during the second Test.
Lunch (of sorts)
Well, no great news to report still. We should be about to return after the first session, but we ain't seen a ball yet. Rain appears to have eased a little, but there's going to be plenty of mopping up to be done even once it clears. Stick with us, though, and feel free to leave a comment if you wish.
Some people didn't enjoy day one of the current Test for some reason?
As you were
Still raining and gloomy in Hobart. There's puddles on the covers and estimates are it will take at least 90 minutes to get things in order should the rain actually stop. We're still around though, so feel free to post a comment if you want to keep the discussion going.
