Steven Mitchell Glazer (born August 10, 1957) is an American politician currently serving in the California State Senate. He is a Democrat representing the 7th district, encompassing parts of the East Bay area. Prior to being elected to the state senate, he was the mayor of Orinda. He won a May 2015 special election to succeed Mark DeSaulnier, who was elected to Congress in 2014, defeating a fellow Democrat, state Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla.[1]
Glazer was President of the Associated Students at San Diego State University and then was elected by his peers to be the Chairman of the California State Students Association "CSSA".[citation needed] Glazer was also Governor Jerry Brown's campaign manager at SDSU.[citation needed] Immediately upon graduation he served as the Legislative Director of the CSSA in Sacramento.[citation needed] He is also a former advisor to Governor Jerry Brown.[2]
