This week in Casey crime: copper pipe burned in paddock, teen girls assaulted by carload of youths

HALLAM

Police are investigating a fire in a paddock where a large amount of copper pipe was burned. The fire was reported on the corner of Centre and Hallam roads on November 5 at 6.40am and the copper piping was believed to have been stolen from a nearby business overnight on November 4-5.

NARRE WARREN

Help is needed to find a group of young people who tried to rob two 14-year-old girls near the Fountain Gate shopping centre on October 31. The girls were walking along Magid Drive near the bowls club at 3pm when a silver BMW sport utility vehicle came up behind them. Two women got out of the car and demanded the girls hand over their phones and assaulted them before being spooked by a witness. The girls received minor injuries. The women were described as white and about 17 years old. One was about 177cm tall, had long blonde hair and was wearing a grey hooded jumper, a grey jacket, black leggings, and “a lot” of makeup. The second woman was described as the same height, with long brown hair, wearing a baggy jacket that was either maroon or black, and ugg boots. There were two men in the car, one driving and the other in the front seat. Police would also like to speak to the witness, who is described as being a woman of Indian appearance. Anyone with information is asked to phone Crime Stoppers or the Narre Warren CIU.

DOVETON

Information is needed about an attempted armed robbery at the Prince Mark Hotel carpark in the early hours of November 5. A man was approached near his car by another man who hit him in the face with a bat. The offender then stole the victim’s car. Another two people then stole personal items from the victim. The three offenders were described as being of southern European appearance and aged in their 20s. The victim was aged in his 20s and is from Pakenham.

CASEY

Narre Warren police are investigating a number of aggravated burglaries where cars and bank cards were stolen and used in crimes. Thieves broke into a house on Hagen Drive in Berwick at 5.15am on November 4 and stole two cars with the registrations XWO 179 and YUL 658. They stole credit cards, which were used at a Safeway and a McDonalds in Endeavour Hills and Doveton. The first car was used at drive off petrol thefts in Clyde and Berwick. The second car was recovered in Berwick after another aggravated burglary. On November 6 a home on Collison Rd in Cranbourne East was broken into. The victim woke up and discovered the front door was open and their keys and wallet were taken, as well a grey Ford utility. The cards were used a number of times. That vehicle’s registration is UUE 368. Thieves broke into a home on Blackledge Drive in Cranbourne East on November 3 at 2am. The intruders got inside the house via a laundry door and took car keys, phone, wallet and a Toyota Corolla that was parked in the driveway. The cards were used in Dandenong. The vehicle’s registration is YHI 771.

HAMPTON PARK

Police are seeking information after a mobile speed camera car parked on Pound Rd in Hampton Park, between Narellan Drive and Manning Close, was interfered with on Wednesday, August 31 at 1.50pm. Police believe a man on an unregistered dirt bike may be able to assist with the investigation.
