Gillard should explain where our dollars went

With the power of the Clinton clan broken, there's even more reason for donors to pull their funding to this Clinton front.

We should ask why Gillard handed over our money, too:

The biggest donor countries behind the $US4.6 billion Global Partnership for Education chaired by Julia Gillard warned they could withdraw funding unless they were shown evidence of improved education outcomes for children in poor countries.

An internal review of the GPE, which collaborates with the Clinton Foundation, found it was unable to show specific education improvements and that there were “practical and theoretical issues to be resolved”.

Since 2003, $US4.6bn was poured into developing countries — $US370 million of this from Australian taxpayers over the past eight years. Ms Gillard, who has been chairwoman since February 2014, pledged $US270m of this while she was prime minister.

The 2015 review, commissioned by the board, indicated a potential funding crisis at GPE as two major donor countries threatened to withdraw support unless they were shown evidence of improved education outcomes.
