Long Lazy Lunch event in the heart of Frankston draws huge crowd

IT WAS long, lazy and the food was spot on.

Which explains why the Long Lazy Lunch event in the heart of Frankston drew just under 700 people.

Organised by the Proudly Frankston group, this year’s lunch was relocated from Frankston Park to Wells St in the city’s centre.

Supporter Alan Wickes said strong support from Rotarians had helped to make the event a major success.

“The weather was great and the use of Wells St with its upgraded design was good,” he said.

Proudly Frankston previously catered for the lunch, but this year’s event involved patrons buying food from Wells St eateries.

Rotarian Charles Coy said Wells St resembled a European town square during the lunch.

“There were super food specials from over 10 selected Wells St restaurants starting at $10 per plate plus the Frankston Rotary steaks along with scrumptious duck offerings from Gold ‘n’ Duck,” he said.

Musicians performed mostly jazz for the event.
