“I took a drive by myself to the Northern Beaches to visit my family. I clocked 28 degrees on the display leaving the city and it was the perfect day for a windows-down music-loud super long drive (the traffic was insane). I had lunch at Mona Vale beach then went to Avalon and shopped for vintage. Hot tip: Arcade Vintage has just opened and specialises in 60s and 70s pieces at really good prices. There was a black leather dress that if no one snaps up I might have to go back for.” — Alice Birrell, fashion features and news editor, Vogue Australia

“Besides working (!) I drove up to visit friends at Palm Beach and dropped into the low key but mouthwateringly fabulous Berkelo Bakery in Brookvale on the way. The pastries are divine, the bread heavenly and the carrot cake pure perfection, making it well worth the detour.” — Verity Magdalino, deputy editor, Vogue Living

"I stayed relatively low-key and rarely strayed from my home-base in Potts Point. But on Sunday after a Chia pot at The Farm on Macleay I walked to the the Poolside cafe at Andrew Boy Charlton Woolloomooloo for an iced beverage and then laid on the lawn at the Royal Botanic Gardens with music and a book, where I chilled after FaceTiming my parents in America and making them incredibly jealous of the harbour view." — Erin Weinger, digital commercial editor, Vogue.com.au

"We headed down to Bendalong Point on the South Coast for the weekend. It's a beautiful quiet spot and although it was windy in the afternoons the coves are protected so are calm and manta rays even come right up to the shore. We drove into Milton to look at the homeware stores and antique stores too. And of course, we made the obligatory stop at Berry's famous Donut Van on the way home (in the age of crazy excessive donuts, I forgot how underrated a good old fashioned cinnamon donut is)." — Remy Rippon, beauty editor, Vogue Australia

“I took my eight-year-old son on trip to Perth to catch up with family. Saturday night was spent with friends at The Reveley, a lovely new restaurant overlooking the Perth foreshore at the new Elizabeth Quay development. The oysters were amazing and it was interesting to see how much Perth has developed since I grew up there as a kid. — Rikki Keene, photography and casting director, Vogue Australia

"I went away with friends to Avoca where no plans are the only plans - long brunches by the beach, going for a swim and lots of reading! (I've just started to read Adam Grant's Originals.) The rest of the weekend I went to Balmoral for lunch at the Boathouse followed by a walk along the esplanade with a gelato, took my dog to Centennial Park and made some sourdough bread." — Zara Wong, fashion features and content strategy director, Vogue Australia

“When heading back to Adelaide, where I went to school and university, I make the most of the minimal traffic and ability to get into restaurants, regardless of the group size, and cover as much ground as possible while catching up with family and old friends. Highlights this trip were a stunning breakfast at my favourite restaurant, Chianti, a sunset wine overlooking Henley Beach, hosting the girls for dinner at my parent's house on Sunday night and brunch (before evacuation thanks to the storms!) at Magill Estate Kitchen at Penfolds.” — Alexandra Brown, online editor, Vogue Living

"My boyfriend and I went 4WDing on the beach at Belmont with some friends. It was such a fun day out. We picnicked on the beach for lunch and really enjoyed the first day of it being so light in the evenings!" — Danielle Gay, assistant digital editor, Vogue.com.au
