SBS CQ: Cultural Intelligence

SBS today launched SBS CQ: Cultural Intelligence an online resource to be followed by a televised forum to advance the debate about diversity in Australia.  

SBS launches Television Production Trainee Scheme

SBS has launched a Multicultural Television Production Trainee Scheme to provide short-term work placements for participants from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, including Indigenous backgrounds, on SBS commissioned productions. 

Al Jazeera joins SBS world news line­-up

SBS has announced that it will broadcast Al Jazeera news from Monday 8 August. The arrangement will see a half hour Al Jazeera English news bulletin shown weekdays at 3.30pm, in addition to a full hour on Sunday afternoons at 2pm, on SBSONE.

SBS apppoints new Managing Director

15 April 2011 - The Board of the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) is pleased to announce that after an international search, Mr Michael Ebeid has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of SBS.  He will commence on 13 June 2011, succeeding Shaun Brown, who had previously announced his retirement.
