Online outrage as kayaker paddles sharks
A kayaker has recorded himself beating a group of sharks with his paddle, which had led to some outraged comments on Instagram.
In a video posted to Instagram Max Mironov can be seen paddling close to the shoreline with sharks swimming close to his kayak.
"Sharky paddle. After freediving with these amazing creatures all day they followed our boat in," Mironov wrote.
Mironov then starts hitting the sharks on their heads with his paddle as they angle in close to his craft.
The video has had over 12,000 views - but not everyone online is happy with what they're seeing.
"So instead of leaving them alone, you paddle into them and start hitting them with your paddle? You're a d---. Hopefully your canoe flips next time..." one person wrote.
"You sir are a moron! The sharks aren't even interested in you!" another wrote.
Whatever the case may be, this close encounter has touched a nerve... and not just in the highly complex electroreceptors contained within the sharks' heads.
