"Ten babies, nine mothers . . . One father . . . " An immaculate deception set in a high-end private fertility clinic in Las Vegas where the patients who gamble in the casino of conception politics discover that the inconceivable can happen.
In a climate of rapid technological advancement, the baby business is booming. ART is the acronym for Assisted Reproductive Technology, or the science of unnatural conception. Classic cases of infertile couples, biological clock challenged career women, gay couples and even unattached singles previously denied the possibility of parenthood can now achieve the previously inconceivable if they are prepared to throw themselves at the mercy of the medical gurus and drug companies offering ART procedures and pay the price of high potential failure and other unknown risks.
"Inconceivable" explores a week in the life of a typical 'cycling' batch of women and their donors preparing to undergo any one or a combination of Assisted Reproductive Technology procedures.
Dr Jackson Charles Freeman (Colm Feore) takes ten patients per batch at his highly progressive and internationally acclaimed Las Vegas clinic. He cycles them efficiently to calendar match so they undergo more or less the same procedure at the same time. Nine months previous to the cycle under investigation at a Los Angeles Arbitration, the ART guru may wish he hadn't taken such a personal interest in one particular female patient when it emerges that the inconceivable seems to have occurred -- it would appear from photographic evidence that he may have fathered every child conceived during that cycle.

Mary McGuckian
Mary McGuckian (born 27 May 1963) is a film director, producer and screenwriter from Northern Ireland.
Early life
Born and brought up in Northern Ireland during the 'troubles', Mary McGuckian completed her formal education in the Republic of Ireland at Trinity College Dublin, where she took a degree in engineering. During this time that she became involved with 'Trinity Players', appearing in over 30 productions as well as producing, designing, directing and even lighting various others. She is remembered for her ability to juggle a demanding under-graduate lecture and exams schedule with full-time theatre commitment.
Career
Her interest in theatre and politics led her to follow an autodidactic post graduate education in literature, theatre, acting and directing on various courses in London, Paris and Italy. During which time she wrote a number of avant-garde plays and movement pieces which were variously produced in England and Ireland. Most acclaimed was probably her long-running stage adaptation of Brian Merriman's poem, "The Midnight Court".

Rupert Graves
Rupert Graves (born 30 June 1963) is an English film, television, and theatre actor. He is known for his roles in A Room with a View, Maurice, The Madness of King George and The Forsyte Saga. Since 2010 he has starred as DI Lestrade in the BBC television series Sherlock.
Early life
Graves was born in Weston-super-Mare in Somerset, England, to Mary Lousilla (née Roberts) Graves, a travel coordinator, and Richard Harding Graves, a music teacher and musician.
Education
Graves was educated at Wyvern Community School, a state comprehensive school in his home town of Weston-super-Mare, which he left at the age of fifteen. The school has since closed and re-opened as the Hans Price Academy.
Career
Graves's first job after leaving school was as a circus clown. He has appeared in over twenty-five films and over thirty-five television productions; he has also appeared on stage.
Graves first came to prominence in costume-drama adaptations of E. M. Forster's novels A Room with a View (1985) and Maurice (1987), before going on to appear in films including A Handful of Dust (1988), the Oscar nominated The Madness of King George (1994), Different for Girls (1996), and Intimate Relations (1996).

"Ten babies, nine mothers . . . One father . . . " An immaculate deception set in a high-end private fertility clinic in Las Vegas where the patients who gamble in the casino of conception politics discover that the inconceivable can happen.
In a climate of rapid technological advancement, the baby business is booming. ART is the acronym for Assisted Reproductive Technology, or the science of unnatural conception. Classic cases of infertile couples, biological clock challenged career women, gay couples and even unattached singles previously denied the possibility of parenthood can now achieve the previously inconceivable if they are prepared to throw themselves at the mercy of the medical gurus and drug companies offering ART procedures and pay the price of high potential failure and other unknown risks.
"Inconceivable" explores a week in the life of a typical 'cycling' batch of women and their donors preparing to undergo any one or a combination of Assisted Reproductive Technology procedures.
Dr Jackson Charles Freeman (Colm Feore) takes ten patients per batch at his highly progressive and internationally acclaimed Las Vegas clinic. He cycles them efficiently to calendar match so they undergo more or less the same procedure at the same time. Nine months previous to the cycle under investigation at a Los Angeles Arbitration, the ART guru may wish he hadn't taken such a personal interest in one particular female patient when it emerges that the inconceivable seems to have occurred -- it would appear from photographic evidence that he may have fathered every child conceived during that cycle.

In this video, filmed at last year’s Eileen Gray exhibition at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, film director Mary McGuckian talks to DoCoMoMo’s Shane O’Toole about the upcoming film.
Describing the film, McGuckian said: ‘The story lies around how someone with such ingenuity, innovativeness, independence, and extraoridinary achievement remain unrecognised for so long.
‘The film is the emotional recognition of that, rather than the factual.’
The film, entitled, Price of Desire, spans 50 years of Gray’s life and is told through the eyes of Le Corbusier.

"Inconceivable" explores a week in the life of a typical 'cycling' batch of women and their donors preparing to undergo any one or a combination of Assisted Reproductive Technology procedures.
Dr Jackson Charles Freeman (Colm Feore) takes ten patients per batch at his highly progressive and internationally acclaimed Las Vegas clinic. He cycles them efficiently to calendar match so they undergo more or less the same procedure at the same time. Nine months previous to the cycle under investigation at a Los Angeles Arbitration, the ART guru may wish he hadn't taken such a personal interest in one particular female patient when it emerges that the inconceivable seems to have occurred -- it would appear from photographic evidence that he may have fathered every child conceived during that cycle.

To Quartermaster, Commandant:
How every morning at parade

Paul Muldoon: So, this is a poem called Anseo. Anseo was the first word of Irish I learned. It means "here." It was a word that we learned at primary school as the role was being called. Here. Anseo, Anseo.
Anseo
When the master was calling the roll
At the primary school in Collegelands,
You were meant to call back Anseo
And raise your hand
As your name occurred.
Anseo, meaning here, here and now,
All present and correct,
Was the first word of Irish I spoke.
The last name on the ledger

The Price of Desire: an interview with the director
In this video, filmed at last year’s Eileen Gray exhibition at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, film director Mary McGuckian talks to DoCoMoMo’s Shane O’Toole about the upcoming film. Describing the film, McGuckian said: ‘The story lies around how someone with such ingenuity, innovativeness, independence, and extraoridinary achievement remain unrecognised for so long. ‘The film is the emotional recognition of that, rather than the factual.’ The film, entitled, Price of Desire, spans 50 years of Gray’s life and is told through the eyes of Le Corbusier. In this video, filmed at last year’s Eileen Gray exhibition at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, film director Mary McGuckian talks to DoCoMoMo’s Shane O’Toole about the upcoming film.
Describing the film, McGuckian said: ‘The story lies around how someone with such ingenuity, innovativeness, independence, and extraoridinary achievement remain unrecognised for so long.
‘The film is the emotional recognition of that, rather than the factual.’
The film, entitled, Price of Desire, spans 50 years of Gray’s life and is told through the eyes of Le Corbusier.
