Peruvian art
Peruvian art has its origin in the Andean civilizations. These civilizations rose in the territory of modern Peru before the arrival of the Spanish.
Pre-Columbian art
Peru's earliest artwork came from the Cupisnique culture, which was concentrated on the Pacific coast, and the Chavín culture, which was largely north of Lima between the Andean mountain ranges of the Cordillera Negra and the Cordillera Blanca. Decorative work from this era, approximately the 9th century BCE, was symbolic and religious in nature. The artists worked with gold, silver and ceramics to create a variety of sculpture and relief carvings. These civilizations were also known for their architecture and stone sculpture.
Between the 8th century BCE and the 1st century CE, the Paracas Cavernas and Paracas Necropolis cultures developed on the south coast of Peru. Paracas Cavernas produced complex polychrome and monochrome ceramics with religious representations. Burials from the Paracas Necropolis also yielded complex textiles, many produced with sophisticated geometric patterns.

Peruvian cuisine is one of the most diverse in the world. Distinct influences come from its three main geographical zones – the coast, the jungle and the Andean Highlands and various immigrant cultures. What you find is a melting pot of flavors receiving International recognition. Peruvians are proud of their cuisine and for good reason. Peruvian Cuisine: The Best Street Food in Lima, Peru
When it comes to street food I have high standards. I've been to countries like Korea and Thailand where street food reigns supreme. Arriving in Lima, Peru I wasn't sure what to expect. Well, I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. Peruvian street food is some of the best in all of Latin American. In fact, one cannot really say they've sampled Peruvian cuisine without trying favorites served up on street corners. Some of the Peruvian street food we tried includes Churros, Picarones, Turron, Tejas, Cremoladas, Alfajores and Chicha Morada to name just a few. "The Great Inka Road" Family Day 6 - Peruvian Music & Dance
The National Museum of the American Indian celebrates its newest exhibit, "The Great Inka Road: Engineering an Empire," and National Hispanic Heritage Month with a day-long program of family activities and performances. In this video, the cultural group Club Libertad de Washington DC performs traditional dances pf Peru. Peru is one of the six South American countries that had been included the Inka Empire's expanse, Peru and Ecuador. This is the second of two performances given by this organization. This performance was webcast live and recorded in the Potomac Atrium of the National Museum of the American Indian on September 13, 2015.

Martin Morales tells the audience his personal experiences of how he overcame cultural barriers and followed his passion of cooking.
Martin Morales worked with Steve Jobs at Apple as Head of iTunes Pan EU, and has held senior roles at EMI and Disney launching the careers in Europe of Miley Cyrus among others. He was also a DJ and music producer. 4 years ago he gave all that up to cook. He is now the pioneer of Peruvian food, London’s leading Peruvian restaurateur, chef and award-winning cookbook author. With Ceviche in Soho he pioneered Peruvian food. He then opened Andina in Shoreditch to showcase the superfood ingredients of the Peruvian Andes. He also runs the Peruvian record label Tiger’s Milk Records and helps run the Peruvian charity Amantani.

Counting with thirteen tracks belonging to thirteen different bands, "Peruvian Stoner Vol.I" is a first taste of what has been achieved so far in the genre in our country. This sample takes groups living different realities and different stages. Some already with a discography and international tours in tow, others first have released a studio album and others who have recorded material more simply but with an enviable musical quality and a huge future.
To all those who have participated in this album are joined one reason: passion for what they do and love to rock.
This is our first compilation, and would not have succeeded but for the willingness and readiness to participate in the bands that have made this possible.
