Max Landis (born August 3, 1985) is an American screenwriter, director, producer, and actor. He is best known for writing the films Chronicle (2012), American Ultra (2015), and Victor Frankenstein (2015), a film adaptation of Mary Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein, as well as a variety of short films including The Death and Return of Superman. He is the son of director John Landis.
Landis was born in Beverly Hills, California, the son of director John Landis and costume designer and historian Deborah Nadoolman Landis. His family is Jewish. He left Beverly Hills High School for a therapeutic boarding school in New England, but still graduated with a Beverly Hills High School diploma.
Since he started writing at 16, Landis has written 75 screenplays. He sold his first script at the age of 18, a collaboration with his father, John, on the Masters of Horror episode "Deer Woman". He would later be asked to return to the series in its second incarnation, Fear Itself, independently penning the episode "Something with Bite". He also wrote for Bluewater Productions' Back to Mysterious Island, a 2008 comic series. Landis has made cameo appearances in a number of John Landis' films, including The Stupids, Blues Brothers 2000 and Burke and Hare. In 2011 and 2012, Landis was listed among Forbes magazine's "30 Under 30" young people to watch in the entertainment industry.
Kevin Patrick Smith (born August 2, 1970) is an American filmmaker, actor, comedian and public speaker as well as a comic book writer, author, and podcaster.
He came to prominence with the low-budget comedy Clerks (1994), which he wrote, directed, co-produced, and acted in as the character Silent Bob of stoner duo "Jay & Silent Bob". Jay and Silent Bob have appeared in Smith's follow-up films Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back which were mostly all set in his home state of New Jersey. While not strictly sequential, the films frequently featured crossover plot elements, character references, and a shared canon described by fans as the "View Askewniverse", named after his production company View Askew Productions, which he co-founded with Scott Mosier.
Smith also directed and produced films such as the buddy cop action comedy Cop Out (2010), the horror film Red State (2011), and the horror comedy Tusk (2014), the first film in the True North trilogy.

FULL SCREEN, HD, and lemme take you to the DC Universe. Oh gosh, I actually did it. I fully geeked out on the internet. This is SO FUCKING LONG, but if you're a big comic fan like I am, you might really enjoy it. There were a lot of people who'd been asking about what "my version" of death and return would have looked like, as well as my version of Superman. Well, here it is. There's a lot of in jokes and references in here so if you don't know who certain characters are, feel free to google them. Not much crossover appeal in this, but I hope you enjoy it. ALL THE EDITING AND EFFECTS DONE BY THE GENIUS ANDY HOLTON. ALL HAIL HOLTON.

Last week Max Landis’ directorial debut Me Him Her premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival. Shortly before heading to Seattle, I sat down with the very busy screenwriter for an extended video interview. During the wide-ranging conversation, Landis and I talked about so many things it would be impossible to summarize it in an intro. Suffice it to say, if you’re curious about what it really takes to make a movie in Hollywood, this interview is definitely worth your time as he reveals a lot of the real inner workings of Hollywood. If you’re not familiar with Max Landis, he’s written a number of projects over the past few years (like Chronicle) and he’s got a lot getting released soon like American Ultra, Victor Frankenstein, and Mr. Right. And this doesn’t count all the projects...

He also wrote the upcoming BBC America series Dirk Gently, and is writing the upcoming Pepe LePew movie. Max does a lot of awesome stuff, and he's one of my favorite internet people because of how passionate of a person he is. If you get a chance to watch him in any other videos, do it. In this video, Max and I talk a little bit about Trump, American Alien, supervillains, and Clark Kent. Max's Twitter: https://twitter.com/Uptomyknees Max's YouTube: https://www.you...
