Lima /ˈliːmə/ is the capital and the largest city of Peru. It is located in the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac and Lurín rivers, in the central coastal part of the country, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Together with the seaport of Callao, it forms a contiguous urban area known as the Lima Metropolitan Area. With a population of almost 10 million, Lima is the most populous metropolitan area of Peru, and the third largest city in the Americas (as defined by "city proper"), just behind São Paulo and Mexico City.
Lima was founded by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro on January 18, 1535, as Ciudad de los Reyes. It became the capital and most important city in the Spanish Viceroyalty of Peru. Following the Peruvian War of Independence, it became the capital of the Republic of Peru. Today, around one-third of the Peruvian population lives in the metropolitan area.
Lima is home to one of the oldest higher learning institutions in the New World. The National University of San Marcos, founded on May 12 of 1551, during Spanish colonial regime, is the oldest continuously functioning university in the Americas.
Robert Matthew Van Winkle (born October 31, 1967), known by his stage name, Vanilla Ice, is an American rapper, actor and television host. Born in South Dallas, and raised in Texas and South Florida, Ice released his debut album, Hooked, in 1989 on Ichiban Records, before signing a contract with SBK Records, a record label of the EMI Group which released a reformatted version of the album under the title To the Extreme. Ice's 1990 single "Ice Ice Baby" was the first hip hop single to top the Billboard charts.
Although Vanilla Ice was successful, he later regretted his business arrangements with SBK, which had paid him to adopt a more commercial appearance to appeal to a mass audience and published fabricated biographical information without his knowledge. After surviving a suicide attempt, Ice was inspired to change his musical style and lifestyle. While his later, less mainstream albums failed to chart or receive much radio airplay, Ice has had a loyal underground following. In 2009, Ice began hosting The Vanilla Ice Project on DIY Network. His latest album WTF – Wisdom, Tenacity & Focus was released in August 2011. Ice is currently signed to Psychopathic Records.
Jonah Tali Lomu, MNZM (12 May 1975 – 18 November 2015) was a New Zealand rugby union player. He was the youngest ever All Black when he played his first international in 1994 at the age of 19 years and 45 days. Lomu finished with 63 caps and scored 37 international tries. He has been described as the first true global superstar of rugby union and as having a huge impact on the game. Lomu was inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame on 9 October 2007, and the IRB Hall of Fame on 24 October 2011.
Lomu burst onto the international rugby scene during the 1994 Hong Kong Sevens tournament. He was widely acknowledged to be the top player at the 1995 World Cup in South Africa even though New Zealand lost the final to the host Springboks. At one time Lomu was considered 'rugby union's biggest drawcard', swelling attendances at any match where he appeared. He is one of the Rugby World Cup all-time top try scorers with 15 tries, a record he shares with Bryan Habana of South Africa.

Lima one of the most feared wing in international rugby. He earned the memorable nickname of "The Chiropractor" for his shuddering hits both on and off the pitch that supposedly rearrange the bones of the victim. The legendary Samoan Brian Lima, nicknamed "The Chiropractor" for his bone rattling tackling, is playing in his fifth and last ever World Cup in a pool match against England in Nantes. Lima smashes the England talisman fly half Jonny Wilkinson in a huge hit, but it is judged too high and he concedes a penalty. The match turned out to be Lima's last ever match, and his last ever big hit, as he was banned for the tackle later in the week, ruling him out for Samoa's last match of the tournament against the USA.
2003 Rugby World Cup - South Africa vs Samoa Brian Lima knocked out Derrick Hougaard with a huge tackle. He was inducted into the IRB hall of fame in 2011 being the only player to appear in 5 world cups. MUCH RESPECT!

https://www.expedia.com/Lima.d178277.Destination-Travel-Guides Lima gives access to the mystical city of Machu Picchu in the Andes, Lake Titicaca in the highlands, the lush Amazon jungle and Peru’s coastal desert. But, before you go to see all of this, it’s worth exploring the capital first. Just like Peru’s landscapes, Lima is a city of contrasts: rich and poor, ancient and modern, practical and elegant, fascinating and entertaining. In Lima’s Historic Center is the Plaza de Armas, also known as the Plaza Mayor. This is where the Spanish explorer founded Lima and the Lima Cathedral, contains the tomb of Francisco Pizarro. Next door, the Government Palace is still the official seat of government today. Outside of the city center are many more visitor attractions. The Bajada de los Baños...
