SHORTLY after confirming they are in a relationship, The Bachelor’s Megan Marx and Tiffany Scanlon have revealed how they fell in love.
Speaking about it publicly for the first time at the Maxim Hot 100 party on Friday night, the girls told the Daily Mail about the moment they confessed their true feelings.
“While we were in the show, it was just a friendship. It probably wasn’t until we were in Bali together that it was like ‘Oh, this is more,’” Tiffany said.
Meanwhile, Megan admitted she wasn’t expecting to fall in love with a woman when she signed up for The Bachelor, starring Richie Strahan.
“We had very different experiences when we were on the show. Obviously I found Tiffany very attractive but I was there to get to know Richie,” she said. “But instantly we knew there was a very strong connection. I was so excited to meet her in Bali.”
The couple also revealed they’d actually been dating for a long time, but no one had noticed.
“It started in June and it wasn’t until October that people noticed! So it was quite a long time,” Tiffany explained. “We were on our own wavelengths. We found each other hilarious but other people didn’t kind of get us ... Like we’d do weird things and thought it was funny, but nobody else did.”
Last month, the pair announced their passion for each other on Instagram.
To mark Tiffany’s 30th birthday, Megan declared “I love you” in an emotional Instagram post during their holiday on the Abrolhos Islands.
The 27-year-old admitted they’d met in “strange” circumstances on the dating reality show, but that they’d had an instant connection.
“From that first cocktail party, it was like this instant calibration between souls, as if we had known each other once before,” she wrote.
“Friendship ripened into something bolder, trust in a very strange situation was formed, and now every adventure we have rivals the other — and continues to make plans for itself.”
Tiffany matched her partner’s emotional tribute with one of her own: revealing their meeting felt like “destiny”.
“The past few months with her in her hometown of Geraldton have been bliss and today’s adventure was the cherry on top,” she wrote.
“I know we will have many more adventures for many years to come and when she turns 30 I will have to try to top this!”
