The arrival of the Swarovski Christmas tree in the Queen Victoria Building shopping centre marks the start of the festive season for most Sydneysiders. This week Swarovski and QVB officially kicked off Christmas with a breakfast to launch the tree. Here’s the 2016 Swarovski Christmas tree by numbers.

More than 82,000 Swarovski crystals.
The crystals travelled over 16,000 kilometres from Wattens, Austria to Sydney, Australia to sit under the iconic QVB dome.
65,150 individual LED twinkle lights.
3,200 branches.
6,400 rose buds. 
The star on top is 2.2 metres wide. 
The tree is 26 metres tall (and is the tallest tree in Sydney).
Weighs 6.5 tonnes.
It took 44 hours to install.
102 people to install.
1,000 hours to prepare the crystals.
