Make your own tortillas with this easy flour tortilla recipe! While corn tortillas dominate through most of Mexico, when you get close to the US-Mexico border, you will find flour tortillas much more common. Check out my Tex-Mex playlist https://youtu.be/oozq1v6i3pQ?list=PL3BC26FDE0BA9A64B

They are usually made with lard, but you can use oil (as I've done) or vegetable shortening. In fact, I'd say from my experience eating tacos and tortillas all across this great state, while lard is typical in Mexico and in the border towns on both sides, shortening becomes the preferred fat as you head Northward towards San Antonio.
And while corn remains very popular to hold such fillings as carnitas and al pastor, flour tortillas are almost always what you will find cradling your breakfast tacos and accompanying your fajita plates.

Mastering a classic Spanish dish just got easier. The wonderful Omar Allibhoy is back with his favourite recipe for Tortilla de Patatas - or Spanish omelette to you and me!
There may be just three ingredients in this dish but each one is used to create an omelette that has bags of flavour.
Caramelised onion provides a delicious natural sweetness while the softened potato gives texture and depth. Mix through eggs and cook until golden and firm to the touch. The perfect omelette will be slightly soft and gooey in the centre. Makes you want one now doesn’t it?!

Hoy preparamos un mítico bocadillo de tortilla de patatas española.
Las tortillas de patatas son como los culos...cada uno tiene el suyo. Puede que tú tengas otras formas o trucos para hacer tortilla de patatas. Si es así déjame en los comentarios como lo haces.
Para preparar nuestra tortilla de patatas, lo primero que tenemos que hacer es pelar muchas patatas. Una vez peladas las cortamos en cubos y las freímos en abundante aceite de girasol hasta que estén jugosas, pero no totalmente doradas.
Sacamos las patatas de la sartén y las escurrimos bien para pasar a mezclarlas con 6 huevos que hemos batido previamente.
A mi me gusta aplastar las patatas mientras voy mezclando los ingredientes, pero si no quieres que te quede muy compacta, no lo hagas.
Añadimos la mezcla en una sartén con muy poco aceite y cuando esté dorada por una parte, con un plato, le damos la vuelta y dejamos que cuaje por completo.
En esta ocasión os enseño dos bocadillos súper míticos para hacer con la tortilla de patata:
- El bocadillo de tortilla con pimientos fritos o asados.
- El legendario jamón y queso con mayonesa.
Ingredientes:
- Patatas (6 patatas medianas)
- huevos (de 4 a 6)
Puedes utilizar cebolla, ajo, jamón, queso, o miles de
ingredientes más... pero la versión básica solo necesita
de huevos y patatas.

Tortilla
A flour tortilla /tɔːr.ˈti.ə/ (or wheat tortilla to differentiate it from other uses of the word tortilla, which in Spanish means "small torta", or "small cake") is a type of soft, thin flatbread made from finely ground wheat flour. Flour tortillas are commonly prepared with meat, mashed potatoes, cheese and other ingredients to make dishes such as tacos, quesadillas and burritos (a dish originating in the Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico / El Paso, Texas, USA area).

Para preparar nuestra tortilla de patatas, lo primero que tenemos que hacer es pelar muchas patatas. Una vez peladas las cortamos en cubos y las freímos en abundante aceite de girasol hasta que estén jugosas, pero no totalmente doradas. Hoy preparamos un mítico bocadillo de tortilla de patatas española.
Las tortillas de patatas son como los culos...cada uno tiene el suyo. Puede que tú tengas otras formas o trucos para hacer tortilla de patatas. Si es así déjame en los comentarios como lo haces.
Para preparar nuestra tortilla de patatas, lo primero que tenemos que hacer es pelar muchas patatas. Una vez peladas las cortamos en cubos y las freímos en abundante aceite de girasol hasta que estén jugosas, pero no totalmente doradas.
Sacamos las patatas de la sartén y las escurrimos bien para pasar a mezclarlas con 6 huevos que hemos batido previamente.
A mi me gusta aplastar las patatas mientras voy mezclando los ingredientes, pero si no quieres que te quede muy compacta, no lo hagas.
Añadimos la mezcla en una sartén con muy poco aceite y cuando esté dorada por una parte, con un plato, le damos la vuelta y dejamos que cuaje por completo.
En esta ocasión os enseño dos bocadillos súper míticos para hacer con la tortilla de patata:
- El bocadillo de tortilla con pimientos fritos o asados.
- El legendario jamón y queso con mayonesa.
Ingredientes:
- Patatas (6 patatas medianas)
- huevos (de 4 a 6)
Puedes utilizar cebolla, ajo, jamón, queso, o miles de
ingredientes más... pero la versión básica solo necesita
de huevos y patatas.

Las tortillas de patatas son como los culos...cada uno tiene el suyo. Puede que tú tengas otras formas o trucos para hacer tortilla de patatas. Si es así déjame en los comentarios como lo haces.
Para preparar nuestra tortilla de patatas, lo primero que tenemos que hacer es pelar muchas patatas. Una vez peladas las cortamos en cubos y las freímos en abundante aceite de girasol hasta que estén jugosas, pero no totalmente doradas.
Sacamos las patatas de la sartén y las escurrimos bien para pasar a mezclarlas con 6 huevos que hemos batido previamente.
A mi me gusta aplastar las patatas mientras voy mezclando los ingredientes, pero si no quieres que te quede muy compacta, no lo hagas.
Añadimos la mezcla en una sartén con muy poco aceite y cuando esté dorada por una parte, con un plato, le damos la vuelta y dejamos que cuaje por completo.
En esta ocasión os enseño dos bocadillos súper míticos para hacer con la tortilla de patata:
- El bocadillo de tortilla con pimientos fritos o asados.
- El legendario jamón y queso con mayonesa.
Ingredientes:
- Patatas (6 patatas medianas)
- huevos (de 4 a 6)
Puedes utilizar cebolla, ajo, jamón, queso, o miles de
ingredientes más... pero la versión básica solo necesita
de huevos y patatas.
