Armadillo Enterprises, Inc., is a company established in 1995 as a distributor of musical instruments. They own the following:

Luna Guitars is a manufacturer and seller of stringed instruments (guitars, basses, ukuleles, mandolins, and banjos). The company was founded in 2005 by stained-glass artist Yvonne de Villiers under the umbrella of Armadillo Enterprises and headquartered in Tampa Florida. Luna guitars are notable for their unique ornamentation that is heavily influenced by Yvonne's glass work.

Verdena

Verdena are an Italian alternative rock band originating from Albino, Bergamo. As of February 2015, they have released six full-length albums on Universal Music Group.

History

Alberto (guitarist) and Luca Ferrari (drummer) are brothers and have been playing together for 10 years. With the addition of Roberta Sammarelli (bassist), they formed the band Verdena. In 1999 they broke onto the scene with their eponymous debut, and began to perform concerts all across Italy. Their first single, "Valvonauta", received significant airtime on MTV and other music stations. Their style can be described as a mixture of rock, grunge and psychedelia.

Their second album, Solo un grande sasso, exhibited longer songs with more frequent guitar solos. The most important tracks of this album are "Spaceman", "Nova", "Starless" and "Centrifuga".

In 2004, Fidel Fogaroli joined the band as a keyboardist, appearing on the album Il suicidio del samurai. In 2006, Fidel left Verdena and the band returned to its original three-piece setup. The single "Luna", originally released on Il suicidio dei Samurai, was one of the band's most notable successes.

Moon

The Moon (in Greek: σελήνη Selene, in Latin: Luna) is Earth's only natural satellite. It is one of the largest natural satellites in the Solar System, and, among planetary satellites, the largest relative to the size of the planet it orbits (its primary). It is the second-densest satellite among those whose densities are known (after Jupiter's satellite Io).

The Moon is thought to have formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago, not long after Earth. There are several hypotheses for its origin; the most widely accepted explanation is that the Moon formed from the debris left over after a giant impact between Earth and a Mars-sized body called Theia.

The Moon is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face with its near side marked by dark volcanic maria that fill between the bright ancient crustal highlands and the prominent impact craters. It is the second-brightest regularly visible celestial object in Earth's sky after the Sun, as measured by illuminance on Earth's surface. Although it can appear a very bright white, its surface is actually dark, with a reflectance just slightly higher than that of worn asphalt. Its prominence in the sky and its regular cycle of phases have, since ancient times, made the Moon an important cultural influence on language, calendars, art, and mythology.

Dreamland (Melbourne amusement park)

Dreamland was an Australian amusement park in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda, which was opened on 2 November 1906. It was demolished in 1909, except for the Figure Eight rollercoaster which remained open until 1914.

History

In November 1906 Dreamland was opened in St Kilda, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. It was built on an area of wasteland which included a lagoon. The lagoon had been drained in 1870 and the site had been unoccupied for more than a decade.

Dreamland was demolished in 1909, but in 1912 Luna Park was opened in the same area. Luna Park is still open and operating today.

Dreamland (Egypt)

Dreamland is a private urban development located approximately 17 km west of Egypt’s capital city, Cairo. It covers an approximate area of 2000 acres and is situated only a few kilometers west to the Pyramids of Giza (Ghannam, 2008). It is located in the newly constructed 6 October City which is surrounded mostly by desert and arid plains, linked to the main city by a ring road and the 26 July Freeway. The development provides many recreational and commercial facilities and is home to a variety of shopping complexes, sport and entertainment facilities, business hubs, luxury resorts, prime real estate and theme parks. Dreamland is aimed at a specific demographic and mainly attracts wealthy locals, expatriates and international visitors. The construction of Dreamland began in 1995 and was inspired by contemporary western urbanism and in particular the private developments in the United States of America around the mid-twentieth century. The project was fueled by neo-liberal capitalism and mass consumerism and upon completion, it was estimated to cost more than US$200 million. The development was instigated by the Bahgat Group and masterminded by its chairman, an influential Egyptian entrepreneur, Ahmed Bahgat.

Dreamland (2000) is a teen novel by the American author Sarah Dessen.

Plot Summary

The book is split into three parts.

Part I: Cass

Caitlin O'Koren has just realized that on her 16th birthday, her 18-year-old sister, Cass, has run away. Everybody completely forgets about Caitlin's birthday. Her parents are broken-hearted, since Cass was supposed to attend Yale two weeks later.

Everyone searches for Cass, but she soon makes a call saying she is with Adam, her boyfriend. Her father is furious, saying he had better expectations of her. Later on, Caitlin's friend, Rina, asks her to join the cheer leading squad, but Caitlin keeps refusing. Caitlin gives in and makes the squad, much to Boo's dismay. Caitlin's mother is very excited. Caitlin says that it's probably best to take her mind off Cass' departure.

It turns out that Caitlin hates cheerleading, but she remains on the squad because of her mother, who sees Caitlin as Cass' replacement. On her 1st game at half-time, Caitlin goes to the top of the pyramid. While on top, she hears someone calling Cass's name. So, while thinking of Cassandra, Caitlin reaches up to find the scar from the shovel incident. She feels it, then falls to the ground, and someone from the bottom of the pyramid, runs out from under everyone to catch her. Luckily, the worst injury out of the pile of cheerleaders is a broken nose.
