Plot: In 1968, the Ford auto factory in Dagenham was one of the largest single private employers in the United Kingdom. In addition to the thousands of male employees, there are also 187 underpaid women machinists who primarily assemble the car seat upholstery in poor working conditions. Dissatisfied, the women, represented by the shop steward and Rita O'Grady, work with union rep Albert Passingham for a better deal. However, Rita learns that there is a larger issue in this dispute considering that women are paid an appalling fraction of the men's wages for the same work across the board on the sole basis of their sex. Refusing to tolerate this inequality any longer, O'Grady leads a strike by her fellow machinists for equal pay for equal work. What follows would test the patience of all involved in a grinding labour and political struggle that ultimately would advance the cause of women's rights around the world.

And it was hard, especially as she was getting less than half than what the blokes at the factory was getting, for doing the same work. And there was never any question that it could be any different. Not for her. Someone has got stop these exploiting bastards getting away with what they've been doing for years. Rita O'Grady: All those in favour of not only maintaining but increasing our current industrial action by going to an immediate all-out stoppage until we get the same rates of pay as the men! Well, why not? Cause that's what this is really about, innit? We're on the lowest rate of the entire bleeding factory despite the fact we got considerable skill. And there's only one possible reason for that. It's cause we're women. And in the workplace, women get paid less than men, no matter what skill they got! Which is why from now on, we got to demand a level playing field and rates of pay which reflect the job you do, not whether you got a dick or not! This strike is about one thing and one thing only! [Albert is being accused by his union of scuppering other negotiations with management by supporting the women's equal-pay strike]::Bartholomew: As a union we have to remember who comes first. Got shot down one time, on a raid to Essen. And even though he was badly injured, he managed to bail out. An attempt by Asmodeus' minions to capture Frank & Harry for brainwashing convinces General Anheiser of their sincerity, and they return to the base and eventually face Asmodeus and its army of brainwashed soldiers.

Those who know of Rogers's Cherokee heritage and upbringing tend to minimize its importance, or to imagine that Rogers himself did sonotwithstanding his avowal in interviews: "i'm a Cherokee and they're the finest Indians in the World." The truth is, throughout his adult life and his work the Oklahoma cowboy made much of his American Indian background. And in doing so, as Amy Ware suggests in this book, he made Cherokee artistry a fundamental part of American popular culture. Rogers, whose father was a prominent and wealthy Cherokee politician and former Confederate slaveholder, was born into the Paint Clan in the town of Oolagah in 1879 and raised in the Cooweescoowee District of the Cherokee Nation. Ware maps out this milieu, illuminating the familial and social networks, as well as the Cherokee ranching practices, educational institutions, popular publications and heated political debates that so firmly grounded Rogers in the culture of the Cherokee. Through his early career, from Wild West and vaudeville performer to Ziegfeld Follies headliner in the late 1910s, she reveals how Rogers embodied the seemingly conflicting roles of cowboy and Indian, in effect enacting the blending of these identities in his art. Rogers's work in the film industry also reflected complex notions of American Indian identity and history, as Ware demonstrates in her reading of the clearest examples, including Laughing Billy Hyde, in which Rogers, an Indian, portrayed a white prospector married to an Indian womanwho was played by a white actress. His first victim is believed to be a former house mate whose corpse was found in January 1993 under a pile of furniture in an abandoned house owned by the Rogers family. His next known kill was a woman he met at a bar in Van Nuys, California. On September, 1995, she was found raped and strangled inside her burning pickup truck. The third victim, another barfly, was found stabbed to death in her bathtub in Jackson, Mississippi on November 3. Yet another woman's body was found in a bathtub in Tampa, Florida on November 5. His last victim was found stabbed to death in her bedroom on November 11 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
"He's getting to be like one of your serial killers," said a Hamilton, Ohio, police detective. Rogers, a construction worker, grew up in Hamilton where he had frequent run-ins with the law. Once he poked a lit blowtorch through the peephole of his front door when police came in response to a domestic violence call. Authorities believe that he might be linked to as many as twelve deaths. In California, Rogers is a suspect in four unsolved killings in Ontario and Port Hueneme. Two days before his arrest he told his sister that he was responsible for more than 70 deaths. Later he recanted the number and said he was merely joking. According to authorities Glen was being cooperative during a six-hour interview after his arrest on November 13.
On May 7, 1997 Glen was convicted of murder in a Tampa court for killing a woman he had met in a bar. The jury took eight hours to find him guilty of the murder of Tina Marie Cribbs and the next day, just three hours to recommend the death penalty. After the Tampa trial, Rogers faces three more trials in separate states. However, none of these states have filled charges yet.
Rogers and the victim met at a bar where Ms. Cribbs was waiting for her mother, Mrs. Mary Dicke. Mrs. Dicke was late, and Ms. Cribbs left a beer at the bar and asked friends to tell her mother she would be back shortly. She drove Rogers to a motel in Tampa and the two went inside and had sex. In a fit of rage the ex-carnival worker stabbed Ms. Cribbs twice, twisting the knife as he pulled it out from eight- and nine-inch wounds in her chest and buttocks before leaving her to a slow, agonizing death in a motel bathtub.
During the seven-day trial the defense maintained that Rogers wasn't the murderer. Furthermore Hamilton, Ohio Police Sgt. Tom Kilgore testified that Rogers had worked for the department as a paid undercover narcotics informant, making hundreds of cases over the years without ever breaking his cover. In his closing argument, defense attorney Nick Sinardi said the state rushed to judgment. "Glen Rogers is a thief, not a murderer." A thief, it seems, with a nasty habit of leaving a trail of bodies in his wake.
On July 11, 1997, Glen was sentenced to Florida's temperamental "Old Sparky" for the stabbing death of Tina Marie Cribbs. Glen's brother Claude, a real estate agent from Palm Springs, California, said after the sentencing: "If you watch my brother -- he's been sitting watching a movie. I don't think reality has set in." Glen, through his lawyer, is still claiming he is innocent.

Rogers nació en West Palm Beach, Florida, y decidió ingresar al ministerio cristiano a la edad de 19 años. Fue ordenado por la Iglesia Bautista de Northwood en West Palm Beach. En 1972 llegó a ocupar cargos de relevancia en la Iglesia bautista de Bellevue en Memphis, donde permaneció hasta marzo de 2005. Durante este periodo el número de miembros de su iglesia creció de 9,000 a 29,000.
Publicó 18 libros y grabó programas de radio y televisión llamados El amor que vale (en inglés Love Worth finding). Estos programas se han emitido en inglés y español.
En noviembre de 2005, Rogers contrajo una neumonía en ambos pulmones como consecuencia de tratamientos para luchar contra el cáncer de colon y murió tras un período de auxilios por medio de respiración artificial a la edad de 74 años

Singer and songwriter Kenneth Donald Rogers was born on August 21, 1938, in Houston, Texas. While his name was "Kenneth Donald" on his birth certificate, his family always called him "Kenneth Ray." Rogers grew up poor, living with his parents and six siblings in a federal housing project. By high school, he knew that he wanted to pursue a music career. He bought himself a guitar, and started a group called the Scholars. The band had a rockabilly sound and scored a few local hits. Breaking out on his own, Rogers recorded the 1958 hit single, "That Crazy Feeling," for the Carlton label. He even got to perform the song on the popular music program American Bandstand. Changing genres, Rogers then played bass with the Bobby Doyle Trio, a jazz group.
Moving on to folk-pop style, Rogers was asked to join the New Christy Minstrels in 1966. He left after a year, along with a few other members of the group, to form the First Edition. Fusing folk, rock, and country, the group quickly scored a hit with the psychedelic "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)." The band soon became known as Kenny Rogers and the First Edition and landed their own syndicated music show. They scored a few more hits, such as Mel Tillis' "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town."
