His given name was Maewyn Succat He was kidnapped at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave He tended sheep for 10 years in Ireland before escaping back to England and taking refuge in a monastery. He became a priest and later on took his teachings back to Ireland where he established the Christian Church which got him in trouble with Celtic druids on several occasions After becoming a priest, he changed his name to Patricius, from the Latin term meaning "father figure." Contrary to legend, St Patrick never rid Ireland of snakes because post-glacial Ireland is one of the few countries on Earth that never had any snakes St Patrick's color was actually blue, not green. In fact, most of the country, including its flag, were represented by blue. Green only came later, possibly due to the country's green countryside. After all, Ireland is known as the Emerald Isle. St Patrick's day was actually started in 18th century American cities by persecuted Irish immigrants who were trying to confirm and hold on to their heritage There are more people with Irish ancestry in the United States (34 million) than in Ireland (4.2 million). In Chicago, on St. Patrick's Day, the rivers are dyed green. The first parade in Dublin did not occur until 1931. The holiday wasn't a national holiday in Ireland until 1903. On an average day, 5.5 million pints of Guinness are consumed around the world. That number more then doubles on St. Patrick's Day, with more than 13 million pints From 1903 to 1970 most pubs in Ireland were closed however, because St Patrick's day was a religious holiday. In 1970 it was reclassified as a national holiday and Ireland joined the United States in drinking the day away The phrase, "Drowning The Shamrock" is from the custom of floating the shamrock on the top of whiskey before drinking it. The Irish believe that if you keep the custom, then you will have a prosperous year St. Patrick's Day falls during Lent, but the restriction of drinking alcohol and eating are lifted for the day. This is believed to be the reason why drinking became such a strong St. Patrick's Day tradition. The shamrock is actually not the national symbol of Ireland. The harp is. Apparently Trifolium dubium is the "real shamrock". According to the Irish, other three leaf clovers like Trifolium repens and Medicago lupulina are bogus Irish soda bread is popular on St. Patrick's Day. Sometimes a cross is cut into the dough with a knife before baking to ward off the devil. Contrary to popular belief, corned beef and cabbage is about as Irish as a taco salad After spending most of his life getting beat up in Ireland preaching to druids, St Patrick was largely forgotten after his death on March 17 461 Over the centuries the legends began to crop up and he was eventually declared the patron saint of Ireland The shamrock is worn today because apparently St Patrick picked a three leaf clover off the ground to explain the trinity before the druid king. During the Sack of Rome in 1527, Pope Clement the Seventh, while being sheltered in Orvieto, ordered Antonio da Sangallo the Young to construct a large well inside the Albornoz Fortress. The 53 meter deep hand-dug well was designed with two DNA-like spiral staircases that never meet. This unique concept was used by Sangallo again for the staircase of the Villa del Belvedere in Vatican City. The well, originally named "Pozzo della Rocca", was later renamed "Saint Patrick's Purgatory", and finally Saint Patrick's Well (Pozzo di San Patrizio). Such name, given in the Nineteenth Century, was inspired by the legend of the Irish Saint, who was well known among the friars that in those years lived in Orvieto, in the nearby convent of Santa Maria dei Servi.

The fans wait impatiently for a release of an official trailer by December and the recent tweet by writer Alex Borenstein saying he has seen a screening of the film only brought a bad taste to mouth of many fans. Today is a different day and we here at Universe-G are working hard to bring you relevant info on the film and maybe give you a view of certain things the cast can tell us. We recently had the opportunity to get in touch with Patrick Sabongui who was casted to play the Tough as nail Master Sargent Marcus Waltz who faces Godzilla and witnesses the creature's awesome powers. We had a chance to interview him and get a behind the scenes view into the film of Godzilla and working under director Gareth Edwards on the film. This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Patrick Alley's perfect crime involves a whole host of characters. Some are obviously shady, others look like you and I. They destroy habitats, and people's lives and lifestyles. They are involved in industrial logging in the Tropics. Patrick Alley is a director of Global Witness and co-founded the organisation in 1993. He took part in Global Witness' first investigations into the Thai-Khmer Rouge timber trade in 1995. Since then he has taken part in over fifty field investigations in South East Asia, Africa and Europe and in subsequent advocacy activities. In addition to his involvement in the organisation's experience of tackling conflict diamonds and the former Liberian President Charles Taylor's 'arms for timber' trade, Patrick focuses on the issue of conflict resources, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and in the past in Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire. Patrick also specialises in Global Witness' work on forest and land issues, especially challenging industrial scale logging and land grabbing in the tropics. In addition, he is involved in the strategic leadership of Global Witness. Demonic Powers in Scripture Biblical passages that highlight the subject of demons are principally found in the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, and the Acts of the Apostles. St. Paul's epistles focus on the victory of Christ over principalities and powers. The Book of Revelation portrays the casting down of Satan and of Satan's being bound forever due to the triumph of Christ in the Resurrection. (10:13) Eventually, as the angel explained, the Archangel Michael had been fetched and was able to overpower the Prince of Persia, allowing this unnamed angel-messenger to make contact with Daniel. The traditional response of the Church has been to positively confess and proclaim the supremacy and victory of Christ in his resurrection from the dead over all things, including the Devil, demons or fallen angels. In the early church, the rite of exorcism took various forms including prayer, laying-on of hands, fasting, and anointing oil (Mark 6:13). Church Fathers such as Justin Martyr and Tertullian attest to the importance of authority in the name of Jesus Christ and the anointing power of the blood of Jesus Christ. Buchanan was a senior advisor to American Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan, and was an original host on CNN's Crossfire. He sought the Republican presidential nomination in 1992 and 1996. He ran on the Reform Party ticket in the 2000 presidential election. He co-founded The American Conservative magazine and launched a foundation named The American Cause. He has been published in Human Events, National Review, The Nation and Rolling Stone. He was a political commentator on the MSNBC cable network, including the show Morning Joe until February 2012. Buchanan is a regular on The McLaughlin Group and now appears on Fox News. Buchanan was born in Washington, D.C., a son of William Baldwin Buchanan (Virginia, August 13, 1905 -- Washington, D.C., January 1988), a partner in an accounting firm, and his wife Catherine Elizabeth (Crum) Buchanan (Charleroi, Washington County, Pennsylvania, December 23, 1911 -- Oakton, Fairfax County, Virginia, September 18, 1995), a nurse and a homemaker.[2][3] Buchanan had six brothers (Brian, Henry, James, John, Thomas, and William Jr.) and two sisters (Kathleen Theresa and Angela Marie, nicknamed Bay).[4] Bay served as U.S. Treasurer under Ronald Reagan. He received a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University in 1962, writing his thesis on the expanding trade between Canada and Cuba. Buchanan joined the St. Louis Globe-Democrat at age 23. During the first year of the United States embargo against Cuba in 1961, Canada--Cuba trade tripled. The Globe-Democrat published a rewrite of Buchanan's Columbia master's project under the eight-column banner "Canada sells to Red Cuba — And Prospers" eight weeks after Buchanan started at the paper. According to Buchanan's memoir Right from the Beginning, this article was a career milestone. However, Buchanan later said the embargo strengthened the communist regime and he turned against it.[9] Buchanan was promoted to assistant editorial page editor in 1964 and supported Barry Goldwater's presidential campaign. However, the Globe-Democrat did not endorse Goldwater and Buchanan speculated there was a clandestine agreement between the paper and President Lyndon B. Johnson. Buchanan recalled: "The conservative movement has always advanced from its defeats... I can't think of a single conservative who was sorry about the Goldwater campaign."[7] According to the foreword (written by Pat Buchanan) in the most recent edition of Conscience of a Conservative, Buchanan was a member of the Young Americans for Freedom and wrote press releases for that organization. He served as an executive assistant in the Nixon, Mudge, Rose, Guthrie, Alexander, and Mitchell law offices in New York City in 1965. The next year, he was the first adviser hired by Nixon's presidential campaign;[10] he worked primarily as an opposition researcher. The Burning of Cork is the name commonly given to a devastating series of fires that swept through the centre of Cork City on the night of December 11th 1920. The burning and the subsequent controversy is one of the most significant events of the Irish War of Independence. During the War of Independence, Cork was one of the main centres of IRA activity. On the day of the fire, a soldier was killed in an attack on British forces at Dillon's Cross. Later that day Black and Tans opened fire on a group of civilians near the corner of Summerhill North and what is now MacCurtain Street. At 10 pm that night fire engines responding to reports of a fire at Dillon's Cross encountered a fire in a department store on Patrick Street. Several other fires had been lit in the vicinity, and the fire service was unable to control the conflagrations. By the next morning numerous buildings on Saint Patrick's Street were completely destroyed by fires that had been set in buildings along its east and south sides. The City Hall and the Carnegie Library were also completely destroyed by fire, resulting in the loss of many of the city's public records. Over five acres of the city were destroyed and an estimated £20 million worth of damage was done. Also that night two IRA men were murdered in their beds by the Black and Tans. Sir Hamar Greenwood, the Chief Secretary for Ireland, denied that Crown forces had any involvement in the fire and refused all demands for an enquiry. Instead it was suggested that the acts of arson had been carried out by civilians. The Irish Labour Party and Trades Union Congress published a pamphlet in January 1921 entitled Who burned Cork City? The work drew on eye-witness evidence assembled by Seamus Fitzgerald which suggested that the fires had been set by British forces. Members of the fire service testified that their attempts to contain the blaze were hampered by soldiers who fired on them and cut their hoses with bayonets. A subsequent British Army enquiry (which resulted in the "Strickland Report") pointed the finger of blame at members of a company of Black and Tans. The soldiers, it was claimed, set the fires in reprisal for the IRA attack at Dillon's Cross.

Antonio Buehler is a West Point grad and an Iraq war veteran. Antonio was arrested in early 2012 for intervening to stop two policemen who were assaulting a woman on the side of the road. When facing the assault, Buehler stepped in to take pictures of what was going on and asked the officers to stop brutalizing the woman. One of the officers, Austin TX Police Department officer Pat Okorski, confronted a non-threatening Buehler, assaulted and arrested him, and later charged him with having spat in his face, a lie that is verified by video from a third party (http://www.copblock.org/12027/his-name-is-pat-oborski-2/). That crucial piece of evidence cleared Antonio Buehler from charges. What kind of police officer would be willing to first assault a young woman, and then commit criminal perjury and frame an innocent man, to save his own skin? Pat Oborski assisted his partner by throwing the woman to the ground on her knees, cuffing and dragging her. Buehler took out his phone and started photographing the incident when Pat Oborski approached him asking "what the hell" he was taking pictures for. Buehler informed Oborski he was a public official in a public place and photography was permitted. Oborski claimed Buehler was interferring with his investigation and shoved Buehler's chest, pushing him against a truck, before arresting him. Oborski claims Buehler spit in his face, which Buehler denies. Buehler was charged with 3rd degree felony harassment of a public servant. Strange, since spitting in a cop's face usually gets a person an assault charge. "I would not get involved in police action," says Buehler, "unless they were doing something heinous such as man-handling a woman who was no threat to them. There are two criminals on the loose; they are looking to get into fights. They wear blue, are armed and wear badges," Buehler added»
