Colwyn Bay (Welsh: Bae Colwyn) is a town, community and seaside resort in Conwy County Borough on the north coast of Wales overlooking the Irish Sea. Eight neighbouring communities are incorporated within its postal district. Established as its own separate parish in 1844 with just a small grouping of homes and farms where the community of Old Colwyn stands today, Colwyn Bay has expanded to become the second-largest community and business centre in the north of Wales as well as the 16th largest in the whole of Wales with the urban statistical area having a population of 28,992 at the 2001 census. Locally nicknamed "The Bay".
The western side of Colwyn Bay, Rhos-on-Sea, includes a number of historic sites associated with St Trillo and Ednyfed Fychan, the 13th century general and councillor to Llywelyn the Great.
Bay of Colwyn Town Council is a statutory body, covering the communities in the urban area. The mayor for 2014-15 is Valarie Smith.
The Borough of Colwyn was one of six districts of the county of Clwyd, north-east Wales, from 1974 to 1996.
It was formed under the Local Government Act 1972 from the following parts of the administrative county of Denbighshire:
The borough was abolished in 1996, when wales was divided into unitary authorities created by the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994. The area of Colwyn was split: a large part going to Aberconwy and Colwyn county borough, (soon renamed as Conwy), and the remainder going to Denbighshire unitary authority.
Colwyn is currently an electoral ward. It consists in part the Community of Old Colwyn with a total population of 4,566
Colwyn is twinned with Konstanz, Germany and Roissy-en-Brie, France.

North Wales (Welsh: Gogledd Cymru) is the northernmost unofficial region of Wales. Retail, transport and educational infrastructure are centred on Wrexham, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Bangor. It is bordered to the south by the counties of Ceredigion and Powys in Mid Wales, and to the east by the counties of Shropshire in the West Midlands and Cheshire in North West England.
North Wales was traditionally divided into three regions: Upper Gwynedd (or Gwynedd above the Conwy), defined as the area north of the River Dyfi and west of the River Conwy); Lower Gwynedd (or Gwynedd below the Conwy, also known as the Perfeddwlad and defined as the region east of the River Conwy and west of the River Dee); and Ynys Môn (or Anglesey), a large island off the north coast..
The southern boundary is arbitrary and its definition may depend on the use being made of the term. For example, the boundary of North Wales Police differs from the boundary of the North Wales area of the Natural Resources Wales and the North Wales Regional Transport Consortium (Taith). The historic boundary follows the pre 1996 county boundaries of Merionethshire and Denbighshire which in turn closely follows the geographic features of the river Dovey to Aran Fawddwy, then crossing the high moorlands following the watershed until reaching Cadair Berwyn, and then following the river Rhaeadr and river Tanat to the Shropshire border. Montgomeryshire is sometimes referred to as being in northern (but not North) Wales.

Aerial footage filmed on Colwyn Bay beach and the Victorian Pier. There is also a chance to see the starling murmuration. I'm not sure how much longer this Pier will be here as it's potentially marked for demolition.

1st February 2017. Colwyn Bay Pier suffered a partial collapse in the afternoon. The Pier has been off limits to the public since 1991, and the Victorian structure has finally started to degrade so far that it partially collapsed into the sea. We sent our trusty little drone up to obtain some footage of the damage shortly after the collapse. To use this video in a commercial player or in broadcasts, please email licensing@storyful.com

County Borough, Wales, located on the Creuddyn peninsula, which protrudes into the Irish Sea. In the 2011 UK census, the community, which includes Penrhyn Bay and Penrhynside, had a population of 20,710 The town's name is derived from its patron saint, Saint Tudno. Llandudno, "Queen of the Welsh Resorts", a title first applied as early as 1864, is now the largest seaside resort in Wales, and lies on a flat isthmus of sand between the Welsh mainland and the Great Orme. Historically a part of Caernarfonshire, Llandudno was formerly in the district of Aberconwy within Gwynedd. The town of Llandudno developed from Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age settlements over many hundreds of years on the slopes of the limestone headland, known to seafarers as the Great Orme and to landsmen as the Creudd...

What's all this confusion?
Just look at this mess
There's too much information
I can do with a little less
Everything's gotten out of hand
I need some space in here
I'm crowded up in no-time
Opinions everywhere
And nothing's makin' any sense
Total chaos livin' there
Who takes responsibility
It is all so unclean
Nothin' left but to
Clean up, got to clean up my head
Throw out all the dark, let the light shine in instead
Free and, all the lies that I've been fed
Clean up, got to clean up my head
Enough insinuations
Let's deal with just the facts
You've created all this anyway
Get this monkey off my back
You're supposed to be the expert
Don't point your finger at me
(Ooh, ooh, ooh )
Clean up, got to clean up my head
Throw out all the dark, let the light shine in instead
Free and, all the lies that I've been fed
Clean up, got to clean up my head
It's not the money
It's not the fame
It's not even how you try to trash my name
It's time to clean the air with a little class
I'm movin' out and if you don't like it you can kiss my ass
Clean up, got to clean up my head
Throw out all the dark, let the light shine in instead
Free and, all the lies that I've been fed
Clean up, got to clean up my head
