Jorge Chávez International Airport (IATA: LIM, ICAO: SPJC), known as Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez in Spanish, is Peru's main international and domestic airport. It is located in Callao, 11 kilometers (7 mi) from the Historic Centre of Lima and 17 km (11 mi) from Miraflores. Callao is the port city now fully integrated with Lima, the nation's capital. In 2008, the airport handled 8,288,506 passengers and 98,733 aircraft movements. In 2009, the airport handled 8,786,973 passengers and 104,966 aircraft movements, which although small, was one of the fastest increases in the Americas. Between January and November 2010 the airport handled 9,361,846 passengers and by the end of 2010 the airport reached 10,278,493 passengers. During the year 2011 the airport served 11,904,553 passengers, growing over 16% when compared to the previous year. During 2014 the airport served a record of 16,170,035 passengers. For many years it was the hub for now defunct Aeroperú and Compañía de Aviación Faucett, one of the oldest airlines in Latin America. Now it serves as a hub for many aviation companies.
Lima /ˈliːmə/ is the capital and the largest city of Peru. It is located in the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac and Lurín rivers, in the central coastal part of the country, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Together with the seaport of Callao, it forms a contiguous urban area known as the Lima Metropolitan Area. With a population of almost 10 million, Lima is the most populous metropolitan area of Peru, and the third largest city in the Americas (as defined by "city proper"), just behind São Paulo and Mexico City.
Lima was founded by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro on January 18, 1535, as Ciudad de los Reyes. It became the capital and most important city in the Spanish Viceroyalty of Peru. Following the Peruvian War of Independence, it became the capital of the Republic of Peru. Today, around one-third of the Peruvian population lives in the metropolitan area.
Lima is home to one of the oldest higher learning institutions in the New World. The National University of San Marcos, founded on May 12 of 1551, during Spanish colonial regime, is the oldest continuously functioning university in the Americas.

President Rodrigo Duterte said on Wednesday, that it was his “duty” to name Senator Leila de Lima as the female government official he had just attacked in a speech in Camp Crame that day. Asked in a news briefing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 if he could name the lady senator he had just slammed in his address to the PNP, Duterte said: “I can. Because it’s part of my duty. Okay naman ako (I’m okay with that). You want to know the name? De Lima.” “You libeled me, you slandered me. I kept quiet because you are a lady. Sumobra ka na (But you went too far). Well maybe you won on the platform of human rights. Ang bugok namang Pilipino naniwala sa iyo. ‘Yung bumoto lang din sa iyo. Features 30+ minutes of planespotting action from Orlando International Airport filmed January 17th, 2016. My first ever time down to Orlando, FL for plane spotting. I plan to make another trip down here for a greater length of time in future, but for now this was a quick afternoon layover. I included as much action as I could get while staying in the Delta Air Lines and International terminals. You have to go through security over and over again to get to other terminals so in the interest of time I decided to stay where I wanted to be most. Some runways are very distant and not easily filmed from the terminals. KMCO/MCO is a very spread out airport. Additional note, was so quiet in the international terminal earlier in the day when no airplanes are coming or going that it felt like...
