Fairfax Media appoints new National Trading Director

Fairfax Media today announced the appointment of Michael Selden as the new National Trading Director for its Australian Publishing Media division.
Reporting to Commercial Development and Partnership Director Kristiaan Kroon, Selden will be responsible for agency trading relationships across all media platforms. He will oversee and strengthen Fairfax’s agency trading business - building on strong existing agency relationships as well as focusing on new ways to engage advertising partners and fuel revenue growth through new technologies, diverse product offerings and unique trading models. His focus will be to drive ad revenue by working closely with agency partners to develop new commercial opportunities.

Selden has more than 11 years experience in media agencies, most recently as Group Investment Director at Bohemia, where he led media partnerships, client negotiations and developing new investment products. Previously, he was Trading Director at Ikon Communications.

Kroon said: “We are delighted that Michael has joined Fairfax. He brings a wealth of experience from his agency background with extensive knowledge of the opportunities and challenges facing Australian media agencies today. He is a great addition to our growing team. This role will help us build even stronger relationships with our agency partners.”

Selden takes up his new role from 23 November 2015.
