Dick Clark Productions, Inc. (stylized as dick clark productions by the company, and often abbreviated dcp) is an American entertainment production company founded by entertainer Dick Clark. Since its inception in 1957, the studio has produced a number of television shows, specials and much more, such as American Bandstand, American Music Awards (dcp's first awards show), Bloopers, American Country Countdown Awards, Golden Globes, Hollywood Film Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, Miss Universe, Miss USA, NFL Honors and the Streamy Awards.
The company previously had a longstanding relationship with the Academy of Country Music Awards, with it producing the American Country Countdown Awards beginning in 2014. It is unclear if the studio's relationship with the ACM will continue. However, it is confirmed that it will be producing the 50th ACM Awards in 2015. More television shows produced by dcp include So You Think You Can Dance, Rising Star, Jim Rome on Showtime, Leadoff and Rome.
Clark is an English language surname, ultimately derived from the Latin clericus meaning "scribe", "secretary" or a scholar within a religious order, referring to someone who was educated. Clark evolved from "clerk". First records of the name are found in 12th century England. The name has many variants.
Clark is the twenty-seventh most common surname in the United Kingdom, including placing fourteenth in Scotland. Clark is also an occasional given name, as in the case of Clark Gable.
According to the 1990 United States Census, Clark was the twenty-first most frequently encountered surname, accounting for 0.23% of the population. Notable people with the surname include:
Richard Augustus Wagstaff "Dick" Clark Jr. (November 30, 1929 – April 18, 2012) was an American radio and television personality, as well as a cultural icon who remains best known for hosting American Bandstand from 1957 to 1987. He also hosted the game show Pyramid and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, which transmitted Times Square's New Year's Eve celebrations. Clark was also well known for his trademark sign-off, "For now, Dick Clark — so long!", accompanied with a military salute.
As host of American Bandstand, Clark introduced rock & roll to many Americans. The show gave many new music artists their first exposure to national audiences, including Ike and Tina Turner, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Stevie Wonder, Talking Heads and Simon & Garfunkel. Episodes he hosted were among the first where blacks and whites performed on the same stage and among the first where the live studio audience sat without racial segregation. Singer Paul Anka claimed that Bandstand was responsible for creating a "youth culture." Due to his perennial youthful appearance, Clark was often referred to as "America's oldest teenager".

In the first major push into U.S. television for the Chinese power, Wanda will pay "approximately $1 billion" for the producer of the Golden Globes and other top awards shows. On a warm October Sunday in Beverly Hills, Wang Jianlin, China's richest man and the chairman of Dalian Wanda Group, made his way to a conference room adjacent to the bar at the Montage hotel. CNBC reports the Justice Department has been asked to review Wanda's recent purchases due to fears the company could be trying to influence how China is portrayed in films, because of the company's ties to Chinese Communist leaders. Wanda told The New York Times it wants to help American film companies increase their share in the Chinese market. For the Sequence Media Financial Network, thanks for wa...

THE WORLD'S OLDEST TEENAGER He Understood Teenagers, Rock And Roll, And Television Dick Clark was the first person to understand how the emerging medium of television could present the new music of rock and roll to teenagers. Clean-cut and well-dressed, his boyish good looks and polite image reassured parents at a time when juvenile delinquency was a major national concern. American Bandstand helped integrate daytime television, brought new artists to the public's attention, and entertained millions. Although he was nearly derailed by the payola scandal of the late 1950's, Clark emerged as the consummate businessman who transformed New Year's Eve on television and became one of America's richest men based on his syndication deals.
